I just don't understand how the TV business works. It has been an interesting year already. NBC renews Southland in the spring, orders new episodes, pushes back the start date and then cancels without ever airing said episode. What? So let's waste money make episodes that we never even air?
Then you have FOX and Til' Death, that is another situation. Fox renews the show after the first season and decided to make major changes to the show, they took out the young married couple and add an annoying friend. Then they bounce the show around, putting it on the schedule and then takes it for several weeks, puts it back on and then takes etc. for most of the second season. Then after all this jumping around they decide to renew (???) the show for a third season and again change it somewhat back to the more original concept, except for the "young married couple" is now their adult daughter. Okay maybe, but now after just three or four episodes, let's pull it off the schedule again, without any clear date off returning.
Fox has also pretty much decided that it is going to no longer invest in Dollhouse as it is pulling it from the schedule for November to return and play out the rest of the season in December. Instead, they are going to run repeats of House and Bones.
The CW did the same thing when it pulled The Beautiful Life. Is it really sooo much better to run repeats of a show then a new episode that is already done and ready to air? I am left scratching my head as to why some of these decisions are made.
But good news it lowers my viewing hours for the nights in question, I don't have time for repeats during the fall season.

Well the first causality of the season is The Beautiful Life. Wow, the networks did not even give it fair chance. I was enjoying this show, but apparently, not enough people watched the first two episodes to leave it on. So instead, they are going to air repeats of Melrose Place in the time slot, even through they have four more episodes already filmed. I am interested to see how that works for them. I get so tired of watching new shows only to have them pulled off the sir before they even get a chance. I know so many people that will not even watch a new show until either it makes it DVD or a second season. These network execs are going to miss the next big sleeper hit, like Cheers or Picket Fences, because they will not give shows a chance to find a fan base.

Jon Bon Jovi has been one of my idols since he showed up on the airwaves in the 80's. He literally started with nothing (not even a band) and has become one of the all time greatest musicians. But he did not just sit back and rake in his money. He...
