GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

My god are there a lot of games coming in 08. This list was very very tough. Now lets just assume that RE5 and FFXIII are not going to make it to North America this year.

Just Missed
Echochrome, Too Human, Alan Wake, Socom Confrontation, Left 4 Dead, Far Cry 2, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed...must...list...more...

10. Resistance 2 (Playstation 3)

Insomniac never makes a bad game. But this time they better innovate if they want me to love this sequel.

9. Spore (PC)

WE HAVE A DATE!!! I'm putting Spore here based on previous years of hype. You better not disappoint me!

8. Killzone 2 (Playstation 3)

I am really interested in what this game is going to turn out like. Killzone 1 was ok, but with the tech and graphics shown so far Killzone 2 has a lot going for it.

7. inFamous (Playstation 3)

Sucker Punch is like Insomniac and Naughty Dog. They know how to make games. And i'm interested in their take on the whole Crackdown, Assassin's Creed gameplay.

6. Brutal Legend (Xbox360, Playstation 3)

Grim Fandango and Psychonauts are some of the most interesting game worlds every created. They are right up there with the worlds of Pixar films. And a game based on heavy metal music, over the top violence, and Jack Black trying to escape from hell sounds too crazy to miss.

5. Heavy Rain (Playstation 3)

From the makers of Indigo Prophecy comes a game that claims to have crossed the uncanny valley. These are the types of games that excite me. A focus on acting and emotion. Just like Heavenly Sword did before it came out (and ultimately was a little disappointing).

4. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)

Even though I've had every secret in the game spoiled for me I don't care. I want to play this with my friends and get some good old Nintendo nostalgia.

3. Little Big Planet (Playstation 3)

Probably the game with the highest chance of impacting the industry with how user-generated content can become part of the overall experience. It looks amazing and lets hope it plays like that.

2. Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox360, Playstation 3)

Really the only open world games that are consistently amazing. Great atmosphere, music, humor etc. It appears that Rockstar has done enough with the physics and minor gameplay tweaks (GPS, in-game internet, Portable music) to make GTAIV not just another rehash of GTAIII. April can't come soon enough.

1. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (Playstation 3)

No doubt about this. Nothing even comes close to MGS4. It defines my very gaming life. That's all that needs to be said.

The top 4 was my top 4 from 07...

Honorable NOT A GAME Mention
1. Home (Playstation 3)

I am really hoping that this service/chat room ends up being as awesome as it was back at GDC last year. it's possible we could find out very soon.
