I was thinking that after talking to a few friends that they had mentioned a couple of bands that I hadn't heard of before, but afterwards I then got round to listening to those bands they had suggested and found that they were quite good. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some bands/artists they like, and I am completely open to any music, well most music.

Some examples of bands/artists I like are - Metallica, Eric Clapton, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Trivium, Thin Lizzy, The Verve, The Cult, Blink 182, Green Day, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Korn, Nirvana, Oasis, Johnny Cash, Artic Monkeys, System of a Down, Slayer, Slipknot, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pantera, Queens of The Stone Age, Megadeth, Machine Head, Lenny Kravitz, Jose Feliciano, Bon Jovi, Eagles, Fratellis, Kasabian, Kooks, Killers, Moterhead, Muse.

These are just a few off the top of my head, I want to expand my musical interests and hope to do so with your help.

Which music don't you prefer? I listen to anything really but I prefer mainly pop. I know most of those bands but some of them I haven't even heard of.

Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Julie London and Billie Holiday are a few of my favorites, however, I'm not sure these late artists are what you were seeking.

Well remember I listen to anything, by well most music. I meant that I don't like Cannibal Corpse, I like heavy stuff but that not heavy. Well I will see what those artists are like, thanks.

How about Anberlin? Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, City Sleeps, Acceptance, and Bang Camaro come to mind, too.

Couple of good ones there, I tend to listen to fairly old music. But you should try Gorillaz

Corrosion of Conformity's "Deliverance" and "Wiseblood". Deftones' first two albums and Opeth's "Blackwater Park" and "Watershed" are all fantastic. If you like those, I can suggest more.

Glenn Miller - I have heard him before, In The Mood , hard to belive he was a soldier.

Artie Shaw - He is very good on the clarinet.

Julie London - Very nice voice

Billie Holiday - Not to fond of her voice.

I will get around to the others suggested soon, I have to do school work and play games as well.

Yes, he quit his orchestra, which was doing very well at the time, so that he could serve his country. He ended up forming a band within the military and later died in flight to preform for his fellow soldiers.

Down- It's got the vocals of Pantera, but musically it is not the same.

Black Label Society- Countryish Heavy Metal kind of a thing, I like it a lot.

B.L.A.Z.E. (or Blaze Bayley)- One of my favorite bands.

Iced Earth- Power/Thrash Metal.

You have to excuse Smokey for suggesting crap like Iced Earth, he doesn't know what's great and what's not sometimes. Kidding...
I guess you could give Disillusion's "Back to the times of Splendor" a listen... It's a great album.
