A few weeks ago Ricardo suggested that I attend PAX to do a live GameSpot interview about WAR. You know what happens when Ricardo wills something?
Before the interview, I decided, I vowed that I was going to talk slowly. So I sat down with a friend, and he pretended to interview me.
"So Carrie, tell me about the Tome..."
I took a deep breath.
"The Tome...well... okay... ...It's this book, see..."
Words left me. Apparently, if I'm not going a mile-a-minute hopped up on nervous energy, then I just forget everything I have to say. So I just want you to know that I tried to slow it down. But it's not me.
Anyway, that experience, and that interview especially, was thrilling. PAX is an incredibly awesome show. One of my coworkers likened it to the gamer's Woodstock. It felt really accepting and exciting, and I believed that everybody there was just interested in having a good time.
If you've ever been interested in attending E3, I highly recommend checking out PAX next year. People are saying that it's filling the void that E3 left, but honestly, I think that's selling it short. In terms of the player experience, inclusiveness, and general attitude at the show... it's way better.

"You're on your way kid."
I dunno where that came from... Anyway, the tome of knowledge (kinda like an achievement system for just doin general "stuff" from what i gathered) sounds like a great idea for this type of game, accentuating the exploration aspect of MMOs on top of the other standard "layers" as you call them.
Anyhow this and Tabula Rasa are the next MMO's I'm trying. Wow has been dead for me for awhile even before it was a year old and the expansions are totally weak so there is no chance I would ever go back.
Didnt even knew you had left GS..one gets spends a period away from GS and finds out that good people are leaving it...Carrie&Richie..did i miss more people(what happened to Ocampo, i really like his reviews on FPS?)
Back to topic: good interview, you did well on re-entering GS on the other side of the camera. Tome of Knowledge seems way cool, hope it records alot, encounter with the very special chars of the Warhammer World, their reaction etc. Thumbs up and eagerly awaitng for a lucky breakin to the closed beta, or a possible open beta of this game..if not a sure buy in 2008 for its debut!
Go Carrie! Go WO! Go Tzeench!!
PS I used to be a big warhammer geek back in the day. I don't play anymore, but I still feel like painting those damn figures once in a while. So much fun.
Its this one...but you can find it on the Carrie's post...in orange...the colour aint there just for show you know

Really hope the game does well and the Tome sounds really good, a great thing for completionists.
