Right, I said I'd make a post about the Wii and other games I haven't told you guys about yet.,
My Wii. I got it on December 8th, one day after launch. After I excitedly unpacked it and set it up, making my first Mii and fiddling around with things, I started up Wii Sports (no other games were availible at the time). It's a great game, especially at parties. Bowling is the standout game of the lot, it's a lot of fun, even by yourself. Later, near Christmas, I obtained The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Now, this game is simply amazing. As any Zelda game should be. The graphics, while not next gen, are impressive and the controls work well. The music, while not totally orchestrated, is great with remixes of old Zelda themes and totally new themes. The Twilight Realm is impressive. While I'm not totally impressed by the Wolf mechanics, they do the job. The dungeons are well thought out and while the puzzles are some of the usual, they do the job. The story is well thought out, but the end does seem to drag out a bit longer than it should have. But I don't have any major beef with the game and if I came off as negative in the micro-review, rest assured I love the game. 100+ hours on only one save file and I still have things to do. On Christmas I obtained Rayman Raving Rabbids. It's not that great. Most recently, however, I picked up Wario Ware: Smooth Moves. It captures the Wario Ware atmosphere and is lots of fun, like any Wario Ware should be. The multiplayer is good, with darts being a clear favourite with my friends. I'm thinking of picking up Excite Truck in the near future, so if you want to voice your opinion on it, do so.
Well, now we're onto the other games I've played. Kingdom Hearts II is awesome, it's way better than the first in lots of ways. Guitar Hero II is a nice improvement on the first, although I agree that the song selection isn't as good as the the original. Test Drive Unlimited (PS2) isn't that fantastic. I had hoped that it would be a faithful port of the Xbox 360 version, but the lack of modes, Ferraris, bikes, and a limited (pun not intended) online mode makes the 360 (and PC) leave it in the dust. I didn't like Burnout Dominator at all, which is suprising, being a giant Burnout fan and all. I really hated the supercharge idea, burnouts were "meh" at most, and the modes were just variations of one another. Maybe it's because I loved Revenge so much. I did notice it was a lot like Burnout 3 however, which wasn't my favourite Burnout (but it still was good). Onto the last - Hotel Dusk: Room 215. It's a compelling "video game book", but that comes off on the lack of actual gameplay and puzzles. There's a lot of dialogue and not enough puzzles, in my opinion. The game has a great story, as it should and is a worthwhile buy, if you have some extra cash lying around.
Anyway, that's enough for now. See you whenever I feel like making a new post.
