Good word that, belligerent, ah but I digress, from what though? I haven't even started, and that'll give you and idea of what kind of blog this will be, disjointed, impulsive, irrational, pointless, additional adjective. I don't like blogs about people's lives, but when in Rome! (Rome reference #1!)

Ah, where to begin. I'm bored, though unlike everyone else here, not with the forums, they are but one of my small enjoyments that I can indulge in throughout the day, and as far as indulging i'm practically Roman these days (the people, not the GTA character). Gorging myself on the delights of Gamespot AU with sick and hedonistic enjoyment, oh my.

I'm bored because I'm working two shifts a week on average (yes I know Turbo, better than none) and this week my girlfriend went back to uni (which she does pretty much five days a week) so I only get to see her once or twice a week now, which is a massive boner-kill, both figuratively and literally. Though I do have to get used to it, so no use wallowing like some, great...wallowing...thing.

I went for my first (sober) drive on Sunday (yes I know I'm 21, I'm just a bit late to the party). It was interesting, my mother tells me I drive like I'm playing a video game, but I don't recall hitting any pedestrians or doing any drive-by's, maybe she meant in my heavy foot-ed-ness. I was never eager to drive in the first place and my mind hasn't really changed, and probably won't unless Santa gets me a Bugatti Veyron for Christmas this year! (PLEASE!)

Coldplay concert this Sunday (8th), kinda looking forward to it, not looking forward to the fact that I have to catch a 2 hour train trip to get there but I've done crazier things for smaller rewards so it should be a good night. While on the subject of music, Suede is the greatest band ever! 'nuff said!

If you're still with me, congratulations, as reward you won't be fed to the lions.

I really should be writing, I'm far behind in my novel writing (I like to get 5,000 words done a week). Hopefully this spontaneous burst of words will open the proverbial floodgates. Hmm, there's another good word...

'And so the boredom, of a most belligerent and oppressive kind, waded off into the oceans of insignificance as Cactus Matt wearily pressed "Submit" and waited patiently for an out pouring of comments from his fellow gamers of the Australian persuasion.'

Yes! I won't be fed to the lions! Can I be fed to the tigers instead?

Oooh Coldplay concert eh? As much as I don't like them, it would be pretty cool to see them in concert.

Turbo - YES! Tiger Island at Dreamworld is far closer than an ancient roman collesseum anyway...unless you're Samuel L. Jackson!

Shinedown - Lol, well I sometimes thinks it helps to actually LIKE a band to see them in concert but indeed, it will be cool.

Yeah well its a bit unfortunate that most of the bands I like haven't come anywhere near Australia .

Shinedown - NEVER GIVE UP HOPE! *hugs*

Does your girlfriend know about your GS habit? What does she think of it? On Suede, I think they kicked Bernard Butler out much too early (before they even finished recording Dog Man Star). He's a brilliant guitarist. They're still the greatest band ever though! You also might be interested in checking out The Tears, which saw Anderson and Butler renuited for 1 album in 2004 (Here Come the Tears). It's not too bad at all, though it sadly comes nowhere near Suede's best work. I wanted it to be a lot darker and more theatrical. Still, it sounds exactly like Suede. It's just like a new Suede album you didn't know had come out. An average Suede album, but still pretty good. Check it out if you come across it.

I've heard there are driving games where you don't run over pedestrians or do drive-bys. Could be a myth though.

Streak - I had heard of The Tears (my research into Suede came across it of course) and while I'd prefer to get a physical copy I think I may have to settle for the Itunes version. As for what my girlfriend thinks of me wasting hours upon hours on this site, she thinks it's cute. Though most things I do she thinks are "cute". It doesn't bother her in the slightest simply because she knows I enjoy it and most importantly I don't access the sight while she's over. Plus she too has her various hobbies (she likes manga, novels and anime, not games) so she spends much of her time at home on the internet on anime and fan fiction websites as well as making lists of all the novels she wants to buy.

Won't you settle for a Dodge Viper . Hey matt i feel like life is actually alot more boring if there isn;t something stimulating the mind. I realised that the last few months, even though its a little late now, i will be going to uni again and start studying once more, i dont think there is anything more satisfying then the mind being challenged. I dont know if you are the same or not, but see if enrolling in a course helps out. You seem to be into literature and movies, do a drama course or something.

Ah, the old bored with life in general conundrum. Indeed the Coldplay concert should alleviate some of the boredom, Cactus, and it'll feel (at least for a few days afterwards) that you have done something with your life. Then that will pass and you'll be left feeling despondent again... Glad I could help cheer you up.

I hope you enjoy coldplay.

please dont feed me to the lines...

Mj - Yes but they're hardly as much fun

Mystic - I don't really have the spare money to do a course (nor the motivation) I'll probably just stick to writing, it seems to fill the day - as long as I don't get writer's block

jt - Well it's my first concert too (shameful I know) so I'm sure I will be buzzing for days after.

sheepradish - Thanks man. And you get to live...for now

What's your current novel about?
Posted Mar 2, 2009 4:35 pm PT
Dave - Well it's actually a novella (though there is possibility for it to increase to novel size, depending on where the ending goes), it's about a guy whose brother disappears to a distant town and so he goes to the town to find him but finds more than he bargained for, mystery, strange visions and murder ensues as he tries to unravel the secrets of the town and find his missing brother. That's a basic synopsis, it's a lot more complicated than that but yeah!

You're not as far behind as me... I like to get 14,000 words done a week and I've done about 10,000 in two weeks. Argh...
Posted Mar 2, 2009 6:40 pm PT
Foolz3h - Well I've only done 1,000 it's good to have a benchmark to strive for each week, even if we don't always make it lol

Coldplay? Cool

Good blog

I was going to go see disturbed last year, then I found out they wouldn't touch Australia with a 10 foot poll, Oh well, have fun at the Coldplay concert. Sort of suck your girl friend won't be seeing you as often.

Bioshock, dynam, gummy - Thanks!

I figured you were 20 max. I know it's only one year difference but I'm still surprised.
Posted Mar 3, 2009 1:11 am PT
Locked - Maybe it's because I don't act my age most the time

Reading that synopsis I figured that there may have been some Lynch-esque inspiration behind it. 5,000 words is an impressive benchmark; my current 'project', if it can be called that, is just a scattered collection of ideas and prose that may ultimately evaporate into nothing.
