As some of you may be aware, yesterday (the 19th) I bought an Xbox 360 Pro! Not my first 360 console (fourth in fact) but I'm determined to keep it this time, come hell or high water. There were a number of reasons I succumbed to buying it (again), the main three being, Crackdown (love it!), superior racing game catalogue (PGR fan since the first) and as ashamed I am to say - achievements. As much as I hate to say it, I'm addicted to achievements, there's something delightfully satisfying about hearing that little 'bee-boop' and watching your score increase.

As for what I bought yesterday, specifically I purchased the GAME pro pack with bonus Kung Fu Panda (bleh) and Lego Indiana Jones (lol) and also got a free copy of Fable II (which I'm enjoying a LOT more than the first one). I also picked up 5 second hand games: Crackdown, Dead or Alive 4, Kameo, Lost Odyssey and PGR 4 - all for under $100. And if that wasn't enough money spent I also got a Limited Edition Red and Black controller, it's very spiffy (I call it my Emo controller ).

I'm sure the question of LIVE would come up sooner or later so I'll simply say I will be getting Gold soon but not until I buy a Wireless Adapter for the 360 (and that won't be til Christmas), so I'll most likely get gold on New Years Day. (and yes I know I have both a free month of gold and a ethernet cable but I'm only allowed to steal the wireless modem at very brief intervals - enough to download updates and such).

Mj - Haha awesome, yeah Crackdown would be my pick for GOTY for whatever year it came out. So much replay value and such a polished and fun game. It's the third time i've bought it

but hopefully now the last. Hope to play you in something some time soon!

Congrats on getting a new 360. Fable II is awesome. Crackdown and Daed Alive 4 should be worth playing when getting used to the Xbox 360.

I got a question for anyone reading this blog. Who doesn't love achievements? In my opinion achievements are one of the best features of the 360. Oh and the new "Experience" is fantastic. I love it. I wasn't into achievements before, that's why my trip up was really slow. But since getting my second 360, I've been achievement crazy! I now try to get as much achievement points possible. If the game is PC and 360, I tend to go for the 360 version just for the points (unless it's a GFW-Live game, then it's points either way

)

Good to see your enjoying the purchase. Originally I didn't see the point of Achievements but as soon as Sony did their trophy system I saw how it can be addictie to collect that sort of thing. I imagine it'll be the same when I get a 360.

Locked - Yeah I have a PS3, and even though I like the idea and look of getting trophies better than achievements, the fact that they don't have them for every game like the 360 does makes me prefer Achievements.

Good list of games you've got, though I haven't played Kameo or PGR4, I have played PGR3 though, and that's great, so if 4 is anything like that then it'll be the win. Good choices on DOA4, LO and Crackdown: LO is probably my favourite RPG and DOA4 my favourite fighter (Hitomi is HOT!!!!) I'll add you as soon as I get back online.

Turbo - Thanks man, I'm enjoying DOA4 a lot, I had 3 on the original Xbox but this one is so much better, she is indeed very hot, I'm almost contemplating buying Dead or Alive Extreme 2

even in spite of its apparent poor gameplay. And as for Lost Odyssey, another game I had with a previous 360, I love it, it's just very hard lol.

Hard? I actually found it easy in most parts... I got DOAX2 just for the lulz and teh hotzorz, so don't worry, you're not alone. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's why everybody who owns a copy has it, because they certainly didn't buy it because it's a good or fun game, because it's neither. Unless you count ogling the chicks as "fun".

Turbo - Maybe you're just too good at JRPG's, I'm pretty hopeless at most games (except Driving games) lol. And as for DOAE2, seems like an easy way to knock up some achievements by the look of the list - as well as the obvious other qualities
