i guess the title shows my opinion. but on with it 
first of all, i didnt watch MS conference for many reasons, one of them being time and lack of internet at the moment. got my emblem though 
why i got it? its POSSIBLE that it was because of the 2 other conferences that day.
EA had some nice games to show, and they did it well, except for the extremely boring part with peter moore (who really scares me... add some demon horns and paint his skin red, and you'll see what i mean) and some casual crap. except for the awesome trailer of "star wars: the old republic", nothing mind-blowing.
ubisoft... oooooh, ubisoft, you did a huge mistake there. i have a few flashes of how it happened... although i watched it whole (on gametrailers, because GS' was lagging), i'm doing my best to forget it. i recall almost one hour of the titanic director talking about his new avatar movie and how ubi rocks... i recall 1 hour of an awkward being talking about casual games and fitness games... i recall seeing the bourne identity... wait it was splinter cell, one of the few good moments in the conference... i recall screaming "what the f**k?!" and laughing out loud when i saw pele there (seriously, WTF? 
)... i recall laughing at "ROMAAAAAAN... onto the next stage, NOW" during red steel 2... he meant "ROMAAAAAN... the swords not responding correctly, you're embarassing us"
what else... OH... i remember NOT seeing the 30sec AC2 movie because everything froze on everyone's computers at the same time during it (in other words, nobody saw it) and i remember that NMH 2 was just commented (not even a screenshot)
day 2 (or should i call it day 1...) was way better.
i dont recall chewing my lunch, because it was 1pm (9am PT, the time the conference started) and i didnt want to lose a second of nintendo's press conference.
just a bit late, i caught them playing the new super mario bros wii and said "meh, is that the super awesome new mario?", then saw some disappointments when they started talking about sales and wii fit. loved the archery game for wii sports resort (pick it together with the swordfighting. improve. put them on a zelda. you got my point). i cant remember the order, but a cool cop game for DS appeared, nothing special. some other games. then they started talking about RPGs. they've mentioned crystal bearers (awesomer each time i see it), the new mario & luigi (which was already released in japan), and they said "a series that finally returned to nintendo after so many years" and i thought "heh, dragon quest IX now... everybody knows about it". when he said "golden sun" i couldnt stop screaming seriously, i didnt see that coming. pure awesome. the new versions of the summons are incredible, and the isaac-like character looks cool
what else can they show? some more clips, cool new the conduit clip, mario VS donkey kong downloadable on the DSi, a warioware tool/game to make your own games, upload pics on facebook... "thats not all the mario we've got for you, we have more" says cammie dunaway... ok, surprise me.
and they did. super mario galaxy 2 brings all the awesome stuff from super mario world (my favorite 2D mario game, i still play it every now and then) like yoshi and yoshi power-ups, and mixes with all the awesome stuff from mario galaxy, but with even more creative galaxies. my only complaint goes to the title (nintendo can do better than add a "2" to the title of a sequel.
okay, NOW they're done. i think that's when they showed the conduit clip together with some other shooters. reggie says there's still one last breath-taking first party title to be released, and that it somehow is related to what fans are calling for... "on a new level of realism, and working together with a team that is experienced with deep, realistic, darker games"
a stormy sea... zelda? no, its just team ninja's intro (found that out later... thanks cloud ). space... uuuh.. starfox? a girl in a space colony... sin & punishment? POWER SUIT. HOLY CRAP. follows one of the most awesome things i've seen in a loooooooooooooooong while. also follows many screams of my part
moments later i remind of the rumored "metroid dread", which was going to be something like it. but dread is dead, because it was from retro. this is F-ING TEAM NINJA HERE. metroid: the other M made my wish list get a huge cut just so i could be sure i'd get it on day 1. if you still havent seen the video, search google, youtube, gamespot, anything, but WATCH IT.
ON TO THE OTHER CONFERENCES!
not much to say about MS'... the MGS starring raiden was the only "OMG!" thing, but we were all expecting a metal gear to show up. that natal thing doesnt look that cool... looks like a way to rip off nintendo without being so direct (like sony... wait and see). might work and be cool, but apparently it requires even more space than playing wii sports. and i guess i can thank them for giving me a more accurate release date for FF XIII.
sony... almost as boring as ubisoft's...
*cuts out the first hour and a half of boring stuff* yes there was a new MGS there, but it didnt shock me at all... and the PSP go is a joke.
lets see... we've got some cool footage on AC2 (that thankfully didnt freeze as many times as the rest of the conference) and we now know that da vinci is the one that creates stuff for you, and its awesome
FF XIII and XIV (dont ask me how they did that)... well, XIII was just another clip and XIV i didnt see ANYTHING because of the huge freeze that happened during it... but apparently its more like "FF XI-2"... maybe, if i dont have to pay monthly and people like it, i try.
wii motion+ ripoff follows, and its so flocking (forgot that term i've "created") ugly and ridiculous i couldnt help but laugh... at first i thought it was a vibrator seriously... "imagine you're playing an RPG ande you pick fireball to use. the [ridiculous] globe will turn red, just like a fireball! then you swing it to throw the fireball. now THAT'S immersion! and i didnt make a crappier version of wii motion+ at all!" >_>
then follows a mario kart ripoff... this one more understandable, since it follows the LBP idea of creating anything... but limited to kart racers. the track maker looks solid, but gameplay... meh. characters arent as nearly as charismatic as nintendo characters.
then we get gran turismo 5 trailer, the SAME project trico (now entitled "something related to guardian" ) video from almost a month ago, some god of war 3 gameplay (could care less... GoW is just another gory action game), and more "we're awesome, we kow it" bragging... as usual >_>
now lets see what the show floor brings us

I didn't watch Ubisoft's, so I didn't feel your pain.
Personally, I knew Golden Sun was coming the second he said "an old RPG" (give or take a couple words). But what I wasn't prepared for was a Team Ninja/Nintendo crossover project. Never mind a Team Ninja/Nintendo METROID project.
As far as Microsoft's goes, I was blown away by ODST and Modern Warfare 2, as well as the demonstration of Natal. Looks pretty sweet.

I think that microsofts was the best out of all the press conferences, and out of the big 3 inintendo was the worst imho, they announced the least amount of games that we did not already know about, and they were once again focused on the casual crowd of gamers. Plus who thought it was a good idea to bring Cammy back?

I don't understand dragonfly. Hardly any of the games were known about except spirit tracks which they didn't even talk about. They had a ton of games if you count them all...

@dragonfly110 - actually, sony didnt show anything we didnt know before (except for a ridiculous stick and the new MGS)... and nintendo DIDNT focus on the casual, they showed a big line of RPGs, including golden "awesome" sun, that new metroid showing that they WANT the hardcore fans with them (they even asked team ninja, known for their mega-hardcore games, to help them). they were balanced, they were fun, and except for some boring stuff i didnt even care to mention, they only showed good stuff (i consider the new wii sports "good stuff")

yes but even then, the main focus of there presentation was the casual, there is no denying that, turue they ANNOUNCED a lot of hardcore games, but they mainly just rattled them off, the majority of the time was spent like last year discussing new wii apps.

@dragonfly110 - not like sony did any better... and nintendo gave us gameplay on their announcements, and an estimated release date. i really liked what i saw. really well balanced between first party, third party, numbers (they are boring, but they need to be said somehow), and among the first and third party games, all of them look good (i dont care if you call them casual or hardcore, if its good, its good)

Didn't watch EA's, but I guess that's a good thing. I probably would be having nightmares if I did watch it anyway Ubisoft had the best conference, hands down (I still didn't watch it but your description is good enough ). It'll be hard to top them next year. Hmm, a lot of people wanted some more coverage on No More Heroes 2 but that just raises the hype of their next press conference. And having the Assassin's Creed 2 footage freeze, genius. Now we just can't wait to get our hands on it. Ubisoft had an ingenious press conference. Blows "the big 3"'s out of the water.

come on, you get new info on DQ IX everyday... golden sun DS was just something mind-blowing, completely unexpected, and this, together with 2 other surprises, are what makes me think nintendo wins. their surprises beat the others'
mario galaxy 2 was going to be "mario galaxy 1.5", but they started having so many new ideas that mario galaxy 2 has 90% of new content, and the other 10% that would be "mario galaxy 1.5" were stuff they couldnt put on the first galaxy. there were some interesting jokes too

it was a N64 or dreamcast game, i think... but spirits is a sequel, not a remake.

e3 totally kicked ass this year and compensated for last years lackluster BS we had to deal with! I CAN'T WAIT FOR the other M and this is coming from a non metroid gamer haha.
btw i hear Golden sun is a great RPG, can you shed more light into the game? im interested in it and might purchase it when it releases.

@hm_xtreme333 - actually, i was going to dedicate a whole blog to golden sun and the many reasons i like it so much but be sure to check the original for GBA (not the lost age), its one of the best RPGs ever.

to tell the truth, myiamoto looks a complicated person to deal with, and i'm not sure i'd want him as my boss never heard of his typicals "table turns" when he's angry? he literally throw the table at whoever is in front of him O_o and he likes to cancel any projects that dont look perfect (retro studios probably hates him for this... he cancelled ALL the studio's projects so they could focus on the first metroid prime... some of the games were almost done >_>). but apparently, he has a fine sense of humor ("nintendo's short on staff for this year's E3 because of the swine flu" )

There's no way that that's 20K and NATAL is free. I won't believe it until it comes out
I didn't say future of RPGs, I said it's the definition of an RPG. They're just very classic and enjoyable RPGs, you really should try one out. And DQIX isn't even out yet. Are you thinking of DQ Swords?

They said NATAL will come with every Xbox 360 console in the future. And unless they want a riot, they probably wouldn't raise the price by much.

i've played it... it uses the same battle system from RPG maker 2000 >_> and i loved the system in FF XII... not sure how the other characters play in XIII, but the new ATB gauge is awesome

i didnt have the chance to get deeper into the story, but i loved the battle system. hated? it's one of the most praised FF games!

You should still know which one you played, don't make it up >_> Are you joking? FFXII is absolutely hated by so many hardcore fans. The critics gave it high scores, which just frustrates them more. I haven't met a hardcore FF fan who loves FFXII.

When I'm a millionare I'm going to hire Ubisoft to make a wall like that screen (very durable). Then play racketball and the screen acts like it's water so when it's hit, you see the ripples and waves

so true well, high voltage (the conduit) used to make boring lego racing games, and then they suddenly appeared with a game that looks to be really cool.
dont forget those packs didnt get any improvements, they were just put in the same package. so its not a rip off.

uuuh... grasshopper manufacture (suda 51's company) and platinum games (former clover studios) are two other examples. you just dont follow the news close enough to remember the names
i have a problem in paying 100 dollars (probably more >_>) in 1 brand new game and 2 games i've already played nearly to the end (i tend to not beat the last boss in my games ), but with control changes. still getting, though

LOOOOONG BLOG. Yeah, Nintendo kind of saved itself within the last 10 minutes of their conference. But most of their good games (SMG2 and Metroid) aren't coming out till 2010. How am I going to wait that long? Hopefully Metroid Trilogy and New Super Mario Bros. Wii will keep me occupied.
I noticed you mentioned Cammie Dunaway. In my opinion, Nintendo needs better speakers. All they have is Reggie.
