With Summer finally here, and tons of movies are being released every week. In the mix of those films, there are the family films, the comic book adaptations, and the incredibly violent movies as well as sex comedies. If any parents are concerned about what to take their kids, I'm making kind of a beware list, the movies I'm listing are not appropriate for the young kids, but ofcourse it's your choice and I'm not judging, just thought of lending a helping hand. For my full opinion of any of these films, read my full review. WantedA movie I really loved, but definitely not for your young ones. The movie is violent, has pervasive language, pretty downright bloody, and has some scenes of sexual content. If you haven't already guessed, yes, the movie is R-rated. If your ten year olds want to see it I would suggest not taking them, but like I said, entirely up to you. If your kids are 12 or 13 or 14, I tink they're old enough to see it, we all do when we're 14, but if your youngster wants to see this, I think you better start getting them the R-rated Barney. The HappeningI definitely would not call The Happening the family feel good movie of the year. The story isn't exactly violent, but I would not recommend it to young kids. It's not that it has language or violence, because it's very mild, It's just that unless you want to be kept up all night by your 6 year old in your bed, I would say not to take your young one's to this. From personal experience when I was a kid, they find creepy demented old ladies living in the middle of nowhere kinda creepy. The older kids will be fine with this though.
Sex and the City I think judging from just the title, you'll have the good sense not to take even your 13 year olds to this. I'm sure you've heard of the show, or propably seen it, and then you know that it has nudity and language. The movie is for moms and their girlfriends, not for the kids. If you do take your kid to this, don't be surprised that when they get older they're gonna wanna lose it in 3rd grade. Definitely keep your kids away from this. The Pineapple ExpressThe Pineapple Express is the last thing you should take your kids to. The older one's will see it no matter what so don't try to stop them. This is a new Judd Appatow (40-Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad) film coming out in August. As with most of his movies, it's a sex/pot smoking comedy. The movie is coming out in August, so if you are going to somehow keep your 14 year olds from seeing this, I suggest you start devising a plan now.HancockI've already said in previous blogs and my review I beleive, that you should keep your young ones away from Hancock. Now if the kid is 9 or up, they should be fine. I suggest waiting until they're ten, but nine should be fine. The movie has it's ammount of language and some violent sequences. The movie is way too dark for little kids, but it's rated PG-13, so around that age.Thank for reading and I'll be back with more topics, If you have any comments or questions on anyhting I have written, please feel free to message me and I'll happily relpy.
