I got it. Grand Theft Auto IV. Finally! I'm really digging this game. Not much to say about it that hasn't already been said, except I'm enjoying it as much as everyone said I would.

I was also getting tired of my big, bulky, and heavy entertainment center, so I bought a new one! I wanted something smaller, simpler, and lighter, and I found one that fit the description at Wal-Mart of all places...for only $20! I forgot to take a picture of the old one to show ya, but here's the new one.

Large pictures don't suit these blogs well, so I took the liberty of labeling it for ya.

And just for grins, here's my cl@ssic console setup. (Not pictured: Nintendo64)

old school

A small, but important, piece of my world, heh.

This entry's title fits the first two bits of news in a good way, but there is also bad news.

*sigh*....about time, indeed...

Yikes, the RROD. Each time I see someone with that I'm scared of starting up my 360. Tough luck there buddy. I do, however, like the new entertainment center setup.

Classy dude. Now if only you could get those awful character posters and cut-outs off your wall, you'd be set!

I like the "classic corner" in your room. I dig that.

Oh noes!!! I fear the day my 2nd 360 Red Rings. I hope you get yours back soon.

So what did your entertainment center look like before? Do you use your TV as a monitor for your PC? I'm looking forward to doing the same with my new TV whenever I get it (here's hoping its on sale this weekend for memorial day).

My old entertainment center was like a large square, with the middle compartment just big enough to fit a 32" flat panel, with a shelf spanning the length of that compartment just above it. The left side of the front was a cabinet that spanned the height (about 4 or 4.5 feet) and depth (about 2.5 feet) of the whole thing and held 4 adjustable shelves for storage. The right side of the front had a similar cabinet but only spanned about half the depth, because there were 4 open shelves on the right side of the entertainment center. The bottom sported 3 separated shelves spanning the entire length. It was black and made up of that really heavy particle board stuff, so it was a pain to move (which is partly why I wanted to get rid of it). I do use my tv as my monitor, which is pretty cool. I just set up a tv-tray to rest my keyboard and mouse on when I play stuff....classy.

Sounds sort of like what I used to have. I think you've seen pics of my new entertainment center on my blog so I won't describe it in detail. That Nintendo neon sign is awesome! I have a big Playstation 1 sign that's just sitting on a shelf because its so big and I have no where to hang it. You certainly have a lot of Metroid merchandise. I bet you'd love to have the huge Metroid Prime 2 standee I have in my living room.

Oh man! I need to show you a picture of the wall above my setup. It's full of Metroid stuff! I actually have the standees of Samus from Metroid Prime 1 and 3. I only have the logo portion of Metroid Prime 2's standee...so yes, I'd love to have it.

Haha! I got the standee at Kay Bee Toys when I used to work there. That's one thing I'll miss about retail; getting all that free promo stuff.
