Misery loves company, eh jimb0? Hehe, just kidding. Okay, 5 things you don't know about me:
1. I've never been to a rock concert. Or any other kind of concert, for that matter. A shame really, seeing as how I consider myself a big fan of music.
2. My nickname has a history: My real name is Matt. An old friend I used to hang out with was quite the odd fellow, and he often skewed the pronunciation of words for comedic effect, thus Matt became "Mort." There were variations on this such as Mortimus, Morty, Mortimar, and Mortzaur. But it was the orignal nickname that reminded another friend of mine of an old Simpsons episode where the name "Bort" was the basis for a short scene. So, "Bort" is now how I am referred to by many of my friends. It evolved even further from yet another friend who often endearingly calls many of his friends "bro hammer" (I have no clue where that one came from). The obvious relation of his catchphrase to my nickname gave rise the "full" nickname of "Bort Hammer."
3. I've owned not 1, but 2 Chevrolet Cavaliers. In 2002, my first car was a cheap 1995 Cavalier cash-car, as it was one of the few options a 17 year-old with little money could afford. I got into a wreck at the end of 2005, totalling the car, but I continued driving it for 6 months until I purchased a 2003 Cavalier. It had nothing to do with brand loyalty or anything like that. It was another cheap cash-car and I suppose I was just comfortable with the performance of the little compact. (Someday I hope to own an Infinity....so pretty.
)
4. If there was ever any doubt about how big of a nerd I am, allow me to clarify: I can complete Super Metroid with 100% of the items in right around 2 hours (game time). I apologize if that sounds like bragging, but it's one of the few gaming feats of which I feel proud. Obsessed much? ![]()
5. The only time I was ever grounded as a kid was for not stopping my brother from getting into a fight. Go figure.
That probably ended up being a bit more than 5 facts. My verbosity knows no bounds! I tag Slunks, GearHead3000, and TastyBojangles.
