Dude you're gonna get flammed for saying that bout the PS3! Anyway not by me. I'll give my reasons for each.

PS3:
Better games that suits my tastes
Better hardware in my opinion and much more flexible than the 360 in utilities.
Graphics look better on the PS3, but that also depends on the games. Remember that there isn't a PS3 game out yet that uses the console to it's full potential.
Much more space on a Blu-Ray for bigger data, meaning they can add better visual effects, make games longer, make better games overall better looking.
I loved Sony since the PS1, the PS2 was amazing, the PSP is amazing and the PS3 is still amazing, underestimated by people simply because of it's price all while the 360 is one hell of an expensive over-heating requiring add-ons box to match the PS3's utilities.
Updates allow for better firmware and improvements over time.

Xbox360:
Sure is a powerful machine with a pwoerful engine, unfortunately, too many people had their 360 overheat and that red circle of death or whatever.
I hate the 360 controllers where I think the PS3 controller is even more comfortable than the PS2's.
Other than Halo, I really don't see why people rushes over for 360's, even there, I never understood the fame and glory behind Halo games.
For 100$ more, you can have a PS3 that has more utilities.

All in all, buy a 360 if it's for gaming only, but if you plan on have a multimedia console, buy the PS3.

Personally, I'd go for the PS3.

Of course, everything I said comes from a personal opinion and experiences and has nothing to do with whatever else people might say for or against me. Just choose the console that suits you best.

It really all depens on what you want. The 360 has the best graphics and more games than ps3 and more coming out. The ps3 has all you need in a game system the graphics are just as good as the 360. personally I would get the 360 because my mom wouldn't pay $500 for a game system. Plus jeff you look like the kind of guy that would own a pPS3.

Just look at the games for each system and pick out which one has the better games for you. You probably aren't concerned with features that each one has. You just want to play games I'm sure so check out the games and pick a system. Simple. BTW, the 360 has a good amount of good games so don't say there is just one and don't just say Halo 3 is the only good game because its not. The PS3 is lacking in quality titles. Ya, they have games but there aren't that great. I'm waiting to get one when there is good games out for it that are not already on the 360.

My 360 broke. and XboxLive gotten bored to me. Live monthly or yearly fees added up....... I now have PS3. works fine. free online play. always will have more and better games coming for the future..... altho all systems are great on their own. it doesnt have to be number one to me.
