The characters in this movie are a riot! They took all the stereotypes of high school and exaggerated them. Actually, most everything in this movie is exaggerated, but that is part of why I enjoyed it so much. There is brief nudity but plenty of profanity. I'm being vague as far as the story goes because it's fun to follow along as it develops in the movie.

This is supposedly a documentary, but it left me doubting that by the time the movie ended. The camera seemed to be in just the right place at the right time. I also found it suspicious how completely the characters ignored the camera.

Besides that, the movie ... err documentary, was funny, emotional, and interesting. It did a good job of portraying each character fairly without demonizing anyone unfairly. That's not to say that some characters were down right evil. The "where they are now" at the very end was a nice wrap up to the experience. This would be a good movie for parents to watch with their teenagers. From what I heard around me in the theater (me being 27 years old and most of the audience being 15) there was a lot of agreement with what was portrayed.

I actually saw this movie in an typography (the study of type) class in college. I found this movie to be disturbing, long winded, and pretty much meaningless. To be fair, the acting was very good and the story was unlike anything I've ever seen....

I actually saw this movie in an typography (the study of type) class in college. I found this movie to be disturbing, long winded, and pretty much meaningless. To be fair, the acting was very good and the story was unlike anything I've ever seen. The main character seemed mentally unstable, and I could not associate with her. If I had to pull something from the movie it would be that everyone is evil and the world is perverse. While this may be true, I could not enjoy the movie. I think most anyone who saw this movie would walk feeling disturbed.

My girlfriend had this movie and put it on one night when I was having trouble sleeping. It started off rather strange, but I was soon so interested in the movie that I couldn't go to sleep.

My girlfriend had this movie and put it on one night when I was having trouble sleeping. It started off rather strange, but I was soon so interested in the movie that I couldn't go to sleep.

Claire Danes (who I have liked ever since My So Called Life) was great! The acting was actually very good by everyone in the movie. The movie started weird and was that way through to the end. But that made it all the more engrossing. You can never really know what's going to happen next. There are many scenes dealing with cross-dressing and homosexuality, which is why I'd suspect it is rated R. You won't regret watching this movie!
