An admin just posted on Sentinelrv's Unions v2 thread, with a link to a poll on the GameSpot Wide Beta Discussion forum.
This poll gives you 3 options: in the new site overhaul (http://beta.gamespot.com/), should unions be enhanced? should they remain the same? or should they be done away with?
Another admin posted on the poll with this:

And currently GS has a team of coders working all-out to complete the revamped site...
It's not that hard to put 2 and 2 together here. GS can bring us union enhancements, they're just not sure if anyone still gives a **** about them.
So if you do give a ****, please go to the poll here and vote.

I'd of thought they could see how much people want them by just checking the activity of the Unions.. There's no way they'd ever do away from them, i'd be suicide.
