I got the new Killers album yesterday. I've listened through it about twice now and I'm fairly impressed. Every song isn't an instant classic, but I'm not worried. I felt half of Hot Fuss was instant classics the other half grew on me into classics. So I'm confident Sam's Town will be the same. Give me a few weeks to absorb the new songs. At the moment the singles are the tracks that like. What tracks are everyone else's favourites?

There has been a lot of good albums coming out recently. I also treated myself to The Fratellis and Guillemots.Both of these albums are good - both are growers. One album which I cannot wait for is The View. They seem to just be exploding just now. Top quality music!!

Last night i watched the season finale of Smallvile Season 5. The previous night i had finished watching the final episodes of Prison break....a pattern started to formulate.

I remember shows like Buffy or Angel where the season finale was geared up to be the climax of the season, that the saving of the world, the beating of the big bad was being built up for the majority of the season. This was the climax of the season. Throughout the season an apprehension about the fate of the 'good guys' was being built. After the finale you were satisfied, you could go on with your life happy, quietly waiting to see next year's new instalments of you're favourite characters.

Today's shows seem to have drifted away from this idea of closure. Season finales tend now to be cliff-hangers (In some cases you wouldn't even notice the end / start of seasons if it wasn't for the break during the Summer). I think this idea was conjured up by the tv companies. That the multi-million earning companies fear the loss of viewers interests throughout the summer and are trying to "black mail" you to come back in the Autumn/Fall for the next season.

I think that this (while it can be benificial for some shows storylines) can create a season finale anti climax. You're waiting at the edge of your seat for the conclusion that never happens.

I think a good show, with good writers and good storylines doesn't need to black mail it audience to come back and i blame the tv companies for putting that sort of pressure onto the producers.

Now enough of my rant, for all i know i might be in the minority. Its time to find out which you prefer:

The Conclusion or the Cliff-Hanger

I have recently been introduced to the works of Tagore. I would like to share possibly my favourite Tagore poem. I fell in love with this instantly and wanted to share it with as many people as i could. I hope these words of hope in humanity, bring as much joy to you as they did in me. If you enjoy this I recommend looking up more of his poems.

Where the Mind is Without Fear

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection:
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is lead forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action--
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

--Rabindranath Tagore, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.

Can you accredit acting with beauty? There are a lot of beautiful girls out there who are awful actresses and a lot of good actresses that aren’t exactly models, so beauty is certainly not the main criteria of acting. But when you have a healthy...

I admit that this review is more about her on-screen appearance rather than her actual acting. But isn't physical appearance one of the many important features of a good actor. Anyone who thinks Vin Diesel or Denise Richards solely got to where...

It is in his range of completely different character personalities that make him stand out from other great actors. It is very easy for a little personality of the actor to slip into their character, it takes a great actor to prevent this. And...

I have to disagree with some of the other reviews. To say she is talentless is a complete joke. If you watch the films and shows that she has been in, you can see a beautiful young actress taking steps forward in her career.

She...

Writing this as a fan i may be slightly blinded by my Alyson tinted glasses, but i feel that Alyson Hannigan is an excellent actress. Having seen her in the stage show of 'When Harry met Sally' in London (which i feel she stole the show from Luke...

Bittajon must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could Bittajon possibly have for not rating a single film?
