Yep,The Carver is none other than Quentin Costa, a man who many Nip/Tuck fans (including myself) thought couldn't be The Carver because he's too obvious to be The Carver. At first, I was a little dissapointed that they chose him to be the infamous Serial Rapist, but the real twist comes much later when it's realised that Kit (the detective handling the Caver case) is his sister/accomplice. With such a twist comes, of course, many unanswered questions. Like how did Kit get assigned to a case that just happens to involve her brother? And how did the FBI not realise that Kit was Quentin's sister? But I'm not going to try and explain this, because I can't. I want to explain my thoughts on why Quentin has decided to carve the faces of the beautiful.

The Carver cuts people he believes that "Beuty is a curse on the World". Honestly, he has a point. We judge people not on how they act, but how they look. We see a scruffy man with a heavy beard and a leather jacket and we instantly think they are some sort of street thug. We see a well-dressed man with a nice shave and a great body and we think they must be a woderful person. In reality, the scruffy man is likely 10 times nicer than the well-dressed man. In this sense, beauty is indeed a curse on the world.

Quentin has gone through a terrible childhood and was born without a d1ck, however, his sister, was born with a disfigured face, and unlike Quentin's deformaty, Kit's could not be hidden easily. She would not be adpoted due to her deformaty, so Quentin decided that he would put himself through medical school so he could repare her face. Now, he is on a vendetta to show the world what beauty does to our lives.

Despite him trying to teach these people what I have agreed is somewhat true, his methods of doing so are terribly wrong. He compares himself to people like Jesus, Ghandi, and Muhammid, but he is much more like Hitler than he is any of these people. He believes what he is doing is right but doesn't understand what his actions are really doing. He carves and rapes people, he doesn't teach them a lesson, he mearly traumatizes them. Quentin deep down doesn't resent the people he carves, he hates them, he wants revenge on them. And revenge doesn't teach, it only destroys. Just like it has destroyed Quentin Costa.

P.S: I hope I haven't scared anyone with how much thought I've put into this.
