Below is a hyperlink to an article that was posted in the official movie thread.

http://www.chud.com/index.php?type=news&id=8467

This article is written by Devin Faraci, who is obviously not too bright. He wrote that ATLA is "lame ass" and "kiddie crap", and he hasn't even seen the show. That's the worst part.

I sent Mr. Faraci an email, which I suggest all of us do so that he will see that there is a loyal fanbase for ATLA. Below is my email to him. (Of course, I was clean and tried to be diplomatic so he will actually read it.)

Mr Faraci,

I find it hard to believe that someone who claims to be in the entertainment journalist industry is so quick to judge a show that you have not seen or care to see.

You are right in that Avatar: The Last Airbender is targeted to children, as Nickelodeon predominately is. However, to hastely determine that it is "lame ass" and "kiddie crap" is narrow-minded and short-sited. In this day and age, it is difficult for parents to find a show that both they and their children can stomach. Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of those rare shows.

Granted, most Avatar: The Last Airbender fans are not excited about a live-action film, especially when the creators and writers of the series are cut out of the process to be replaced by Shyamalan, who has had a series of duds in the box-office.

You have every right to speak your opinion, but do not jump to conclusions about something of which you are ignorant.

... I'm in love with that e-mail. You've said it so much better than I ever could, so I won't; I'm not a native English speaker, and I choose not to embarrass myself by trying to prove worthy points to ignorants with this kind of English knowledge... >> But, to label a show he hasn't even seen yet - what kind of a fool does one have to be? And here he calls himself a professional. I'm appalled.

I thought you have done a good job writing the E-Mail. It is only fair to say that there is such a thing as close-minded people if they have never seen a show before. It's just like not voting in an election and criticizing the incubent in the office. You have absolutely no right to say anything, if you haven't voted. This should be the same thing for Avatar if you haven't seen it. I'm sure all other Avatar fans that are either or not in this forum would understand this also

Please email him, so he will get the point. I don't mind if he had seen ATLA and decided he didn't like it, but that is not the case. I want him to understand that we are not all children that watch the show.

i think you email was very well worded and well thats just unfair jornalism

I don't think emailing him will do any good since he's prepared for them as he states in his article.

To quote a Spongebob episode, he is 1% Evil and 99% hot gas. He just writes that garbage to get more hits on his website so he can charge more for advertising, etc. etc. and he just wants attention. He just needs a girlfriend.

How can you tell what a show is just by looking at a picture!? Hopefully your wonderful letter will knock SOME sense into him......
