Okay, it's well beyond September, but that's where everything always goes down hill....
The muffler was fixed for free (I love my local mechanic!). Don't know what I'd do without a car. I live in the middle of nowhere. If not for the internet I wouldn't even be able to get anything on DVD -- for a reasonable price that is.
Anyway, after the muffler fell off my car my best boyfriend of 18 & 1/2 years finally succumbed to age and died. Orac was the best cat in the world. A sleek, graceful, tuxedo kittie with the sweetest purr I've ever heard. He was always there for me. He out lived two (human) jerks who sponged off of me instead of getting their own stinking job. He was there as I went through one pointless job after another until I got where I am now. He was one of the best friends ever.
Cats have nine lives. I hope to see him again.
My Mother died on September 21, 2001.
Stubby (another cat) moved in of his own accord just after Thanksgiving 2001 and vanished on September 28, 2003.
Travis was put to sleep on November 2, 2005 after a long ordeal with a curable illness we almost caught in time.
Soolynn (Travis's sister kittie) was put to sleep on October 6, 2006 because she had the same curable illness but we just didn't have the money.
Orac died on September 16, 2007 due to age.
September 16 toNovember 2 stinks.
My poor car! I was half way out of the parking garage when.... clunk, grind, grind, grind.... Pull back into a stall, look under the car, and the muffler is hanging lose from the engine! Good thing my Supervisor was there. He kindly hooked the thing back in place with a wire coat hanger. Now I have to take itto a mechanic. Wonder how much that's gonna cost?
It could be worse. It could have been the engine. Jerry might not have been there to help. I might not have found a wire hanger to steal from the Lady's Locker Room!
Is it just me or is the sour milk/sour Skittles commercial disgusting?!
Okay, Labor Day weekend is over and I managed to survive. It's been a while since I had a hangover that lasted an entire weekend. Sense of hearing is still a little sensitive but the headache is gone!
Thank the stars this will only be a four day work week.
We had some friends over on Saturday, and spent the evening chomping on ribs, drinking beer, and making way too much noise. Oh, and watching the raccoons. They were watching us from the roof while we sat on the front porch. It seems the beasties live in the trees in our backyard.
It also seems that one of the women on the town council recently bought property that's been re-zoned as commercial. She lives a block East of me, and my family, and friends are now wondering if we are too mature to egg her house this Halloween.
