I've experienced a sudden change in my gaming lifestyle. I'm a console gamer and yet I have, in recent weeks, neglected my consoles.
*gasp* And by "neglect" I mean "haven't played." I have plenty of PS2 and even a couple GC games I have yet to finish.
I planned on doing a speed run of Eternal Darkness. That ended up on hiatus. Dr. Lindsay's chapter is a pain to go through especially when you're also trying to get the Mantorok rune. The thought of having to go through Edward's chapter fills me with dread. I only save after finishing each chapter so one big mistake demands a reset and going through a chapter yet again.
I was also in the works of going through Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits again while going through the game as fast as possible while unlocking both secret characters as well as collecting the rare items and completeing the only two side quests in the game as well as only saving the game between chapters when the game prompts you to. That also went on hiatus as Darc's first chapter is a major pain especially with the unskippable cutscenes. Let me tell you, Darc's first chapter has a LOT of cutscenes. I got sick of watching those. I'll try again soon. If I wait too long, I'll forget most of the game.
While I'm developing a habit of speed running some of my games I have no intention of submiting to SDA and making a new record. I am not that good plus this is just a test of my own skill and for my personal enjoyment.
I had also planned to play through all SH, SH2, and SH3, before Shattered Memories is released as well as finally beat SH4 for the first time. I got to the part where you go through the Building World again with Eileen, but that girl is such a pain. Sure Ashley fromRE4 was annoying when she yells for help, but at least you can tell her to stay or follow plus she knows how to duck and stay out of the wayunlike a certain someone. Anyway, I can't seem to get the motivation to play through the SH games. I want to, but then there's a part of me that doesn't.
However, I've been spending more and more time on the computer. I went on piratebay.org and downloaded Duke Nukem 3D, Wolfenstein 3D, and Doom Ultimate and Doom 2 (which I have yet to install). I don't play them much, but at least I got some more games to play on my computer. Note: I only pirate some PC games, not all. My copies of Fallout 1 and 2 and Halo are legit.
Diablo has taken over my life again recently. I was addicted when I first got the Diablo Battle Chest then stopped playing for a while because I missed my consoles, plus I had obtained quite a few PS2 games a few months after I started playing Diablo.
Now I've been playing Diablo at least every other day. My Diablo play sessions have gone as long as 5 hours at a time. Notice how I don't say Diablo 2. Yeah, I'm addicted to the original Diablo. I can't stop playing it. I'm just annoyed howyou only level up once or twice per playthrough after reaching the mid 20s. Can you imagine how long it will take to reach the level cap of 99?! ![]()
That reminds me. I have a World of Warcraft Battle Chest. I don't have the money to play right now so it just sits there waiting for me to reactivate my account after my two week free trial ended back in like March or something. I only opened the thingonce to see what was in it.
I hope to be reunited with my consoles in the next couple of weeks.
InSilent Hill related news, Konami has announced a Silent Hill maze horror attraction that will be 10,000square feet. It will be at a place called Jeff Schleffelbein's Sinister Pointe in Orange County, California. So if any of you are in that area, that's something to look out for.
In my previous blog I said that I was going to state my opinion on a movie I saw with my friends back on Sept. 4th. Well, that will be in my next blog, I promise. First one to correctly guess which movie I saw will get a bunch of smiley faces. ![]()

Which game? Diablo, Eternal Darkness, Silent Hill, or Arc the Lad? They're all good games.
