Hey what's up everyone? I've been REALLY bad about keeping up with blogs lately. Not just mine, but commenting on other people's as well. I apologize for that in advance and I'll try to get to them as diligently as I can.

Anyway, on topic. My favorite boss fights. If you have ever been (un)fortunate enough to play a game with me, you'll know that I get really mad at games. Although I get mad, over my 15 years of gaming, there have been some boss fights that I had really enjoyed. Some made me angry, while others were just plain fun. I'll be doing a series of blogs that will name some of my favorites.

They will be in no order whatsoever. As I reminisce of them, I'll be adding them to my blogs. I'll be doing 2 or 3 per blog. I'll be starting with the fight that made me decide to do this whole thing.

Any of you that were lucky enough to own an N64 as a kid, I really hope you didn't miss out on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This may be one of the greatest masterpieces to ever have been created. I could probably write an entire blog on how great that game was, but I won't because I'm lazy. Nearly every boss on that game was great. One of them really stood out from the others those, and that was the final fight against Ganondorf. Right after you think you've beat him, you get this

This scared the 9-year-old crap out of me. I remember playing this with my older brother and specifically him yelling OHH MYYYY GODDDD!!!! He died shortly after. We spent probably 3 hours straight trying to kill Ganon, before we figured out you have to slash his tail. (Note: We SUCKED at video games). I guess it was also the last time we played games together too. After Zelda he started only playing Football and Baseball games.

The whole atmosphere of the fight though was great though. Dark skies, debris or a destroyed castle, and a wall of fire surrounding the arena. The whole mystery surrounding Ganon also made the fight unique. You see Ganondorf several times throughout the games, but there was no reference that he was some gigantic behemoth with 2 swords that were each bigger than Link.

Another boss fight that I loved was from Final Fantasy X. Again, if you never played this game I suggest you complete it sometime before you die. I put around 300 hours into this game. It was only my 2nd RPG ever (The Legend of Dragoon being my first). This game also falls into my Top 10 Games of all time. I'll try to make this so that it doesn't contain spoilers or give away the story of the game, in case some of you play this at some point. My favorite boss fight from this game was Sin. Sin is basically a monstrosity that torments the land of Spira for their "Sins".

Here's a shot of the big guy himself:

As big as he is, of course he can still die by swords and magic, which is good because if they went for realism, I don't think anything could destroy him. I really liked this fight thought just because of how huge Sin actually is. It's not just a standard face off, but rather a series of battles you must endure in order to destroy him. It a very lengthy boss fight, but I thought it was the perfect way to end such an amazing game.

Well, that does it for this blog. I'll have some more of my favorite boss fights up in a few days probably. Hopefully you all enjoyed this. I'll be getting into more current generation games at some point. Leave some comments below and let me know what you al thought.

Ahh...great games you listed. They are, without a doubt, masterpieces. I agree that some boss fights are enjoyable while others just make you want to throw your controller at the wall. It seemed like you were a pretty advided gamer as a youngster.

Those were some awesome bosses. I haven't played either game to be perfectly honest with you, grew up with a playstation and sega. Even still, I would've sucked if I did.. And I think I used to because I couldn't even beat crash bandicoot, and that had AWESOME bosses. But yeah.. Unfortunately I have to call the grammar police on you... Sorry. Second paragraph, third line.. You spelt boss wrong. You are under arrest. haha

"Hahahaha! Gandandorf! What a loser, trying to kill me by destroying his tower with Link and Zelda inside! Hahahahah HOLY JESUS ALMIGHTY, HE'S STILL ALIVE. OH GOD, WHAT HE'S TRANSFORMING OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD WHAT THE HELL THIS IS AWESOME!"

I always loved the Sin battles. The fact that you always battled him while targeting specific body parts really highlighted how freaking big he was compared to us. Great boss battles indeed.

So how do you kill that big guy in FFX? Anyway I look forward to seeing what DMC, GOW, & MGS boss battles you enjoyed the most.
And some surprises.

Sin is too big, and ugly!
I could only play FFX for 10 hours, then I messed up stats and missed a lot of things. I'll have to replay it soon.
