ok, I usually don't use blogs to ask questions because I have my own brain But EVERY way I look at this question I still can't find an answer so here it goes:

Couple months ago I sold my Rig (a very good one, about 1 and a half years old) It was very painful because it took alot of time (and money) to put it together but I needed the money to go to Japan, Hawaii, Arizona and Mexico but all said and done it was worth it. SO NOW, I have a little less of a thousand dollars and I was wondering whether should build a new rig or buy a 360..I even drifted towards the thought of buying a pS3 but once that happened I Said No! to myself ofcourse

Simple Question: which should I buy? PC or 360

the are a bunch of games that I want on the PC (Crysis, Spore, etc.) but the 360 has a pretty decent line up.

Another Question: With Vista now out are most 360 cross platform? meaning both on the 360 and PC?

Thanks alot to anyone who is willing to give me their opinion.

Aww, why no ps3? I love mine.

Though to answer your question...I would say to base your choice on which has the most games you want now and later.

In my opinion, it really depends on what you need the PC most for. If you don't have one at all, they are always very useful, as you know. Internet, typing, email, games, everything!

I personally use my PC more than the 360 because I'm just more used to the PC; and World of Warcraft is just too addictive! But if you're more looking at the gaming side of things, I'd probably go for the 360; it's the best of the consoles out there at the moment, purely because it has such a wide and reasonably good selection of games to get through, oh and achievements!

Seeing as how Microsoft really wants Vista to become more of a Gamer's OS I'd go with a new PC. On top of having good games that will be for the Xbox360 on the PC as well, The PC gives you more options as a College Student. There isn't anything like being able to do work on your own computer rather than going to the library and such.

Get a new PC and buy an Xbox360 controller for it..and you'll be set.

My pc definatly i can check my email and play xbox live without a chance of red ring of death even though not all xbox 360 games are on pc

get a PC the 360 is just there to steal your cash. I regret buying on because of my impatience not being able to find my Wii. The 360 all it has is shooters lots and LOTS of shooters and some racing...Rpgs with original game play with cliche story lines and those stream of racing games. Every fun game you have to buy over marketplace with there insane prices. Oh also your very high chance of it breaking down and you have to get it reparied. Sorry I didnt mean to bash the 360 like that...but, its true >.> only really good thing is online although its full of a-h**es. To answer your cross platform question. Only like 2 games (Shadow Run and .....hell I cant think of another) that play games on both the 360 and the PC.

Now when Can I pwn you in pokemon XD

Ya know after playing it again I take that back the 360 is really good I just dont want mine to die so i say get the PC just for the saftey reason =o
Posted Sep 14, 2007 3:01 pm PT
So the 360 is good but not reliable ok, I going to make my purchase by this time November and it seems like I'm going to put together a rig BUT If I do change my mind, whether the directx 10 cards droped in price or not or If I feel the 360 is the way to go I'll inform you guys ...

Oh and one thing I forgot to mention was that I DO have a computer , its just not a gaming rig

Posted Sep 14, 2007 8:59 pm PT
Pfft...I see you've already chosen to buy the PC. WRONG MOVE.
Posted Sep 15, 2007 12:59 pm PT

360 lineup beats PC's right now I.M.O.
Gears of War, Assassins Creed, Halo 3, DMC 4 etc. >>Crysis, Spore, etc.

Yes the PC is the best gaming device of all time, but you'll need to keep upgrading it in order to play newer and better games. Most of the games on 360 are also on the PC, but you won't encounter as many problems on the 360. PC's can crash, lag a lot and much more. And if your pc gets screwed over, you'll have to start all over again. And that's just the beginning of the examples.

About the Vista thingy...well...a few, not many though. And it'll take long for the 360 games to be made for the PC also. F.E: Vista PC's can play halo 2 now...360 just got halo 3.

And Xbox Live completely kicks ass!

But go for the PS3!!!! Yes I know! It sucks ass right now! But don't think about now...think about later. Which console will get raided by extremely awesome games again? Yep the PS3. It's not doing so well right now, but in a few years...it'll (probably) beat the Wii and the 360 in sales and the quality of games.

Master sword- Halo 3 will becoming to the PC anyway...Gears of War just got confirmed it will come to the PC last week and DM4 is already coming to the PC and all new PC's come with Vista guaranteed. Very flawed my friend...

As for pokemon anything goes...oh and get a game for the ii we can play online damn it! (I have like both of em anyway)

Actually Gears was confirmed to come to the pC a VERY long time ago they annouced the minimum requirements last week (big deal for PC gamers ) But yeah, I've decided on a pc mainly because it seems to be getting good games from BOTH the PS3 and the 360..My Wii will just fill in the parts the PC can't

Maybe I'll get strikers OR get battalion War, I never playedthe one on the cube but I heard its really good and this one has online co-op and stuff
Posted Oct 10, 2007 3:39 pm PT
Definatley get BWii2 its a hella fun game

Vexx88: Yes Halo 3 is coming to the PC....in one year....LOL, 360 nearly got Halo 3 when pc got halo 2.
AND you'll luckily get to upgrade your PC for the damn 600th time. And you get to install that absolutely horrible vista on to your pc too! yay.
Here's another plus: MUCH MORE ONLINE HACKERS!! WOHOO!

Gears was announced a long time ago...wow! It looks....actually...exactly the same and with only one extra act! WHOA!
And now...you can play it on minimum requirements, so it'll look horrible. DO IT NOW!!!! Who the hell needs a non-lagging (if you have decent speed) 360 Gears with excellent graphics and online play when you got...eh..well...a lagging POS with online......and mad hax....

Yes, DMC 4 is for the PS3, 360 and PC. What's your point? Should he buy a PC instead of a PS3 also because of it? no.

Vista sucks. You need Vista to play those games. Either you have to buy a new PC to get vista along with it or just buy vista for a few hundred bucks, then download vista on to your PC, so it'll sucks.
Now.... just sit down and read it over and over again until you see the problem.

But, eventually it's up to you BET...wait...you upgraded your pc didn't you? Well..look at it like this. You have left controller gaming completely. You will only swing your arms behind your Wii like a pirate for a few years and sit behind your computer when your arms get tired.
You will LAG, unless you keep upgrading your PC...hey! Have you heard about the new Geforce video card? Fx8800? It's really good and only 200 bucks...Or you could wait a few years until there is a price drop or you could buy the new card that comes out next year and will probably cost 350 dollars. Woohoo...you're seriously better off upgrading your PC the whole time!

Meh...I'll go with the Wii60. You go with...P-Wii....

By the way Vexx, indeed, there are a lot of COMPLETELY AWESOME shooters on the 360:

First Person shooters
Third-Person Shooters
Tactical Shooters.

All (well...the first two do look a lot like each other) play differently.

There aren't only shooters on the 360. There are a lot of other games too. Like RPG's, Platformers, racing games and a lot more. Most of the games that get a 9+ are usually shooters (one of the three mentioned above) though, but have you ever looked at 8+ and 7+?

I find the 360 technical problems issue to be complete bull crap. It overheating a lot is definitely bull crap. It does not happen as much as some people say (50% of the time my ass). No Vexx, 360's do not crash as much as you think. If it ever does crash, you have excellent support anyway, so fixing it will not be a problem at all.

A very high chance vexx? Like what? 80%

lol did you read my post on your blog? Now IM Pcii60 And ya, the card was the geforce 8800 gt, its really good and I ordered it. PLus, no game will require vista, even Crysis runs well (if not better than vista) on XP. Even if I didn't have a 360, you can plug a 360 controller into the pc. PLUS, you get keyboard and mouse which is > a controller for FPS's.

And as I said, I opened up a 360 and the thing was badly built. The GPU heatsink is rediculously small and get SUPER HOTT!!! I almost burnt my fingers off when I left in running and touched the heat sink. I used my CPU termostat and got temps of over 100 c!! The problem was that M$ tried to make it really compact and they threw the whole book of heat dissapation out the window. WHY?? So they could fit a freaggin DVD drive into the darn thing (that didn't help the heat either).
Over time these will be fixed by having smaller cooler processors but If I had to buy one new I wouldn't have bought one at all.
Posted Nov 12, 2007 3:25 pm PT
So what if it got extremely hot. Did it crash or break?

I'm happy that mine is still perfectly ok and running
Posted Nov 13, 2007 5:44 am PT
well, If something stays hot for too long EVENTUALLY it'll break. The real prob with most 360's is they have a cheap solder , than when it gets how (from the GPU) starts cracking. This makes up 96 percent of all 3rod

I'm sick of pc games and having to bother with hardware failure .. 360 -> PC

you can buy a ps3+360+DS+Ps2 for the prize of a good pc .. console ftw when it comes to games.

Dude, buy a nice XPS laptop, chack out this dream on www.dell.com : XPS M1730.
Im gettin this one for sure
Posted Jan 11, 2008 3:46 pm PT
And everyone knows that shooters are best played on PC. (KNOWN FACT)
Posted Jan 11, 2008 3:51 pm PT
go for the PC besides you can play halo and halo 2 online for free unlike the 360 that makes you pay but halo 3 is not yet out for the pc so awww...however it should be sooner or later
Posted Jan 31, 2008 5:00 pm PT
I always had good PCs and I always will because they are worth the money. Every good game that goes out for the 360 will sooner or later be out on the PC. The pc its more expensive but think about what a PC can do and what a X360 can do, the games on the PC are also cheaper and there are lots and lots of games. One other thing, crysis was released and its the best looking game ever, you'll not be able to play that graphics quality on any console on the market, in 2009 the PC games will be much better in graphics than the console ones (I don't consider graphics the most important thing but this is true), the PC will always be aed of consoles because you can put a new gpu on your pc and a Xbox"720" will only be release in 4 5 years.
