Well, I had wanted to write a blog about this great new site that I've found called Wordle, including awesome images of word clouds, but no, my computer network has now decided that it would for some reason prefer not to post photos.

I'd like to thank the artist of my fav comic strip, Basic Instructions (click to view if you've never read it... HILARIOUS) for introducing me to Wordle.com , a website for generating masterful word clouds. What is a word cloud? Basically, you post any text into a blank field and Wordle will convert it into art of awesomeness, arranging the words in random and beautiful ways. The more a word is used, the larger it is used. You can also customize your Wordle creation by changing the font, color, layout and other items. I have been playing with it all afternoon making works of art out of favorite song lyrics. As some of you may know, I am a huge fan of doing stuff like that as my profile banners have all been song snipits. I want so badly to post some of my creations, but my computer network stinks on ice. Just in case it is just me, here is the code for one I made with my fav Counting Crows song, Cowboys (the same song that inspired my current banner):

Edit: Yay! I got it to post. You can also view it where it will not be so fuzzy at :http://wordle.net/gallery/wrdl/122790/Cowboys

Hopefully you can see that, but if not, trust me it is awesome and I will post it asap. For more info, here is the blog for the creator of Wordle: http://blog.wordle.net/

In other news I have been getting some really strange looks this week due to the fact that I have been doing a pretty good impression of an attempted suicide patient this week. My wrist on my right arm is all wrapped up in nice thick layers of gauze that with this strategic positioning cause people to do a quick second take. Especailly in the WalGreens when I had to buy more bandages. But not to worry, despite my rather uncheerful mood last week, nothing quite that sinister happened. No, in fact, the real story is much much lamer.

A bit of background first. I have a kitty that I heap tons and tons of affection and attention on. She is my little fuzzy baby and I adore her in everyway. And thus, she is spoiled beyond reckoning. I learned early that she does not much like to drink out of her water bowl in the kitchen, and instead prefers to drink from a glass on the dresser next to my bed. So every night when I go to bed, I get Misty a glass of water, set it on the dresser and often lift her on the dresser so she can drink. Yeah, I know. I know all about it. The only thing keeping me from being a crazy cat lady is I only have one.

So anyway, the other night I did my nightly ritual of serving the cat water and lifting her to the dresser. Cept my dresser was a bit messy and something fell over as I was putting her down and she freaked and tipped over the water and fell of the dresser. And me, not thinking grabbed said falling wet cat. And yes, that was a really really stupid idea. So now I have a scared, wet, panicing cat in my arms, and if you know anything about cats, they have sharp parts. Well, some of her sharp parts lodged themselves firmly into the inside of my wrist and went to town. One of her perfectly aimed claws managed to actually basically cut my vein, you know the big one in your wrist and kind of ripped it nice and vertically. In addition, it promptly got nice and infected. Yay! It has been a week and I still have to keep it covered. Most of the shallow scratches have mostly healed, but the one right on the vein is still pretty nastily looking. It doesn't hurt as much as it did (the first few days it hurt to do anything with it, especially hold things and type), but now it is very very itchy. I'm not sure which is worse. And I have pretty much come to the conclusion that I am gonna have a nice scar there too. And if one more person asks me if I tried to cut my wrist, I'm gonna have to smack someone and hard.

Since I was editing, I decided to post a pic of my kitty. Doesn't she just look like a killer:

Well I hope you are all having a decent week. I keep thinking it is Friday and then remembering it is Thursday and being disappointed. Oh well. This weekend I am heading to the beach for my mom's birthday. I'm excited cause I get to see my brother who is coming down from NY and I don't get to see him as much as I like. Just another reason I want it to be Friday as I pick him up at the airport tomorrow at 5 pm. Yay!!

Okay, here is a Word Cloud of this blog... ENJOY http://wordle.net/gallery/wrdl/123898/Every_Word_Cloud_Has_A_Silver_Lining

I'm so sorry to hear about the scratches, they sound pretty bad - at least you're okay, though . That does stink that the scratches are all on your arm - I hate when that happens, and then it looks like you're cutting, even though you're not =/

Get better soon! =]

Thanks, Meghan. I'm not sure if "Never Catch a Wet Falling Cat" is a proverb of wisdom, but it should be

Wow, sorry about the injury. I have dogs who have scratched me to death, but they've never caught a vein. I can only imagine the looks you must be getting, hopefully it heals soon. That sounds like a fun website, I might have to try it out

Very cool!

Madison: Thanks. This is really only the 2nd major scratch I've gotten in almost 7 years of having this kitty so that is not too bad. And this one was by far the worse, but it was an accident.

Auntie: Yay! I hope you have fun with Wordle. I love it like crazy!!

UPDATED BLOG WITH PICTURES... YAY!!

I think I have seen art from Wordle before... It's quite nice .

Okay, first, I take exception at the 2 kitties = cat lady . Oh, wow, it must have hurt so much, cats scratch always do, but a major one like that ; I hope you heal well and it doesn't leave too much of a scar or people will jump to a conclusion for a long, long time. Oh, yes, she looks like a killer just like my Phi does and she's as dangerous.

Be good, have fun with your family.

Okay, really she's a cutie and I can understand the going out of your way to serve her because I'm pretty sure, you are still doing the water ritual, right?

France: Nah, two cats doesn't cut it either. I don't think you have to worry until you get to double digits . Although I do tease my brother cause he lives alone with two cats that he is a crazy cat man. Well, that and he has a pink couch

And I may have lifted her up on the dresser just moments ago but I will never confess. She looks up at me with the cutest little eyes, I cannot help myself.

Wow! What a story! I have to say cats kind of scare me...basically because of the story you said! That sounds so nasty with the vein and everything! That word website looks cool though.

Megan: That is a shame cause cat's are usually sweet as they can be. She was just scared and you can't really tell a cat, calm down. Now dogs, on the other hand, scare me. I've never been comfortable around them. Take care!

That Wordle site is cool, and the Basic Instructions comics are great! I started to read just one and then I couldn't stop. Eventually I made it back to your blog to comment though

I hope your arms are feeling better - I have a cat myself and can just imagine that happening. I don't think its weird that your cat drinks out of a glass you give her - mine likes to drink out of everything but his bowl: the shower, a measuring cup, bottle caps...he's super spoiled too. Your kitty is so cute! Have fun with your family this weekend and...happy friday!

Jeannine Yeah, I am a big fan of Basic Instructions. I could look at those all day. I think How to Wash A Cat is my fav, but that just might be cause I can relate. Mostly my kitty is self cleaning fortunately.

Lin: The important question here is did you hit the little girl with the stick, cause I sure would have!! I remember once when I was little, we had a cat and my brother beat up this guy who threw a rock at her.

Okay, one more edit. I copied the text of this blog and made it into a Word Cloud. Check it out, it is at the end of the blog.

Please, if I ever hit the double digits cat wise... you have the permission to shoot me (please, it'll be a favor). I really don't get people who have so many cats, I mean their entire pay must go into the vet bill.

The Wordle is pretty neat. I guess people where talking very calmly and quietly to you after spotting the bandages. One of my friend's was preparing for battle this afternoon - clipping her mother's cat's claws. I don't have the patience.

Hi there, don't mind me, I had to comment. I feel bad for you, this injury sounds very annoying. Still, I enjoyed your description so much, it could almost see it. Your little killer.
I used to have a fantastic male cat (*gets lost in pleasant memories*). He scratched me only once and he was scared then, as well. I hope you'll feel better, soon!
And your posted word cloud is very pretty!

Wordles are awesome! I think I'll try one or two.

Kittys are evil.
