So my 5th time buying a DS game and I still have the same problem....I'm already bored. I've bought Animal Crossing, Diddy Kong Racing, Zelda, and Viva Pinata and barely play them because I get bored too fast. I couldn't even beat the Phantom Hourglass.

So I bought Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood a couple days ago. I haven't played it too much because I've had alot of stuff to school at work this week but I still can say that the game is boring. Combat is way too slow and the game is far too hard and its not even this is challenging and fun hard but annoyingly hard. I'll keep playing it because.....

I brought in my 360. I didnt get a RROD or a disk drive error but I think my 360 was getting to that point. It was scratching my disks. It has destroyed my Viva 2 (which I got another one because it had only been a month), my COD4, my Guitar Hero 3, and my Gears disk which are all unreplacable because I didnt buy them at EB Games (didnt get the 3 buck warranty). So I'm out on my 3 probably most played games. Guitar Hero and COD still work but Gears is totally unplayable...the other two just make lawnmowing noises while in.

So what's my plan? Rent Gears or COD at Blockbuster and switch disks or try to find a store with only one copy used so when I bring it back the next say saying it doesnt work I may get my money back so it'll cost me nothing.

Anyways, thats my blog for today...not too much going on. I have Saints Row 2 paid off but I may switch it to Dead Space. I'm going to get them both but one now and one later. Fable 2 will probably have to wait for me because Gears 2 and Banjo 3 are my top priorities and I just don't have the cash to buy everything.

Alright I'm finally at the end of my list. Only one game will be predictable but it's such an awesome game and it was one of the reasons that pushed me for a 360.

3. Lost Odyssey

- Going into this game I didnt really have any expectations. I had 4 crappy titles so I decided to trade them in and this was the only game that was out and I was a bit interested in.

I started the game and right off the bat I didn't really like it. It was too hard and for an RPG noob like myself way too complicated. However, I stuck with it and it gave me one of my greatest 360 experiences to date.

The whole game is magnificant. Kaim is such an amazing character who I felt was interesting because he had that old school JRPG feel because he rarely talked and when he did it was short and simple yet he doesn't look or act like an old school JRPG character. I also had high hopes for Gongora but he turned out to be a more typical villian even though he was pretty cool.

I remember reading something on Kotaku where Sakaguchi was aiming for emotion and not innovation and he hit the mark. I am not the biggest fan of innovation because when you do something so right (Final Fantasy Series) why change it especially for 360 owners who've never had a ****c awesome JRPG. The story was awesome and it had a nice conclusion that hopefully sets it up for a sequel even though it doesn't need one. The best part of the game had to be the Dream sequences which were just a blast to read and most of them just hit close to the heart.

The graphics are beautiful and thats mostly because it uses the Unreal Engine. Also, another amazing thing the game has is its orchestrated soundtrack. Words can't even describe how much it rocks.

Anyways, you can read my thoughts in my review. Overall, Lost Odyssey is a must buy for RPG fans or people who enjoy great stories.

#2 - Burnout Paradise

Again, I really had no hype for Burnout Paradise. I was really excited for it but then I heard it was going to be "free roaming". I was still excited for it but I played the demo and shut it off after 5 minutes of disappointment. But January 22nd came along and I was looking for a new game so I decided just to buy it because the Burnout series hadn't disappointed me yet.

Believe me when I say this game is simply and truly amazing. The soundtrack, the gameplay, the intensity of going 200 miles down a street, and the amazing details of the city all just remarkable. Burnout Paradise is what I believe all sandbox games should like while in a car. Just imagine the possibilities of GTA or Saints Row with the Burnout Paradise formula while in a car. Anyways back on topic....

No other soundtrack has got me more pumped up while playing. I don't care what anyone says, Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend song just pumps you up and theres so many other ****cs like Paradise City, I Wanna Rock, and Faith No More and theres also so many songs that I had never heard before but were amazing.

Paradise's highlight is its gameplay. I've never played a free roaming game like Paradise and it was a blast. My only little nitpick is some crash scenes, although epic, are a bit too long.

Overall, Burnout Paradise is just a blast that everyone should try. It may not be for you but for me it was simply amazing.

#1 - Gears of War

- My first game for the 360 and the game I am still playing. Gears of War is sick. The single player story is crap. Yeah I know. The story is generic. Yeah I know. But its the multiplayer and gameplay mechanics that makes Gears my favourite game this generation.

I can't get bored of Gears, especially when I'm playing with my friends. Gears is fast paced and the action doesn't stop (unless you die). Also since its 4 vs 4, every person counts so you need to pull your own weight. The game is completely a team game.

I can talk about Gears forever but this blog is already way too long so I won't keep talking about how much I love Gears.

Anyways, I'll get back to my regular blogs starting tomorrow. I'm curious though to see how Fable II, Banjo, The Last Remnant, Fallout 3, Infinite Undiscovery, Too Human, Prince of Persia, Dead Space, and Mirror's Edge are able to change my top 30 list.

#5 - Viva Pinata

- I am a huge Rare fan and I buy everything they make....good or bad. Now I might not have mentioned this before but between Feb 05 and Nov 06 I didn't really play any games (besides KH2, and when I borrowed my friends 360 - Kameo, and PDZ). I didn't really pay attention to anything gaming related. So when I found out in December 06 that Viva Pinata was a Rare game I immediately went to buy it.

I put it in...started to play and fell in love. The game is way more complicated than people give it credit for. Believe me....a child could not play this game. Theres so much to do and so many things going on and thats what makes the game so fun. You can do multiple things at once. Trying to get your Sparrowmint's to romance while trying to get a Sour Pinata to become a good one. The game is definately time consuming and you'll be wondering where all the hours went. Viva Pinata is such a beautiful game that kept me entertained for months. The only problem with it was that you couldn't do as much as you wanted to do in the garden because of lack of space. Besides that though its so easy to get lost in the game and for $10 it's probably one of the best deals you'll ever find.

Overall, buy Viva Pinata.

#4 - Grand Theft Auto IV

- Grand Theft Auto IV was a game I had been hyping since I saw the first trailer. I've always been a huge fan of the series but I've never played a GTA game at launch so I was excited. GTA IV is everything people say it is and beyond. It deserves the praise, the hype, and the scores.

However, I didn't give GTA the attention it deserved. I got it during a period where I had 2 RPGs to beat and I just wasn't really focused on gaming. So I kind of rushed through the amazing rollar coaster ride that was the storyline. And that's basically all I did. I didn't mess around. I didn't really play the online modes. I just beat the story and kind of put it on my shelf where it collected dust. Don't get me wrong the game was a blast and the world was huge but like I said above I just didn't give the game the time of day it deserved.

Overall, Grand Theft Auto IV deserves all of its glory but the game's world and the experience may just be too vast for its own good. If you plan on playing GTA IV for months and doing everything then this is the game for you.
