- Samsung Upconverting HDMI DVD Player (DVD-HD860)

upconverts to 720p/1080i, Digital Optical/Coaxial Output, Progressive Scan, Digital Audio Decoder, Component Video Output, Media Playback, S-Video Output and of course a HDMI Output.

- Samsung HT-XQ100 Home Theater

Output power / total 500 Watt, Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, Component Video Output, Component video output, Composite video output, Digital Optical Input, HDMI Output, and a USB Port.

All for $2998 CDN, just for the TV because the DVD Player and Surround System were thrown in for free.

+ the $350 warranty for the TV, $150 Monster 400 HDMI cable (2M), $120 Monster Ultra Series THX 1000 Fiber Optic Digital Interconnect cable (4ft.), $30 TV charge, and $219 in GST.

Definately a 9. Awesome kit but there's always something better and completely out of your price range that would get that perfect 10 rating. Enjoy.

Some advice for everyone, while Monster products may look more attractive they are heavily overpriced. Products at places like monoprice.com and bluejeanscable.com perform just as good for a lot less. Monster's surge protectors seem to be pretty good though.
