Ahhh! The relief at finally being able to play without a deadline. I've had my initial "fix" and really look forward to being able to play at my convenience. I feel I can take my time now and really explore my characters and how they play. For me playing a game has never been about "Finishing" a game. I tried to figure it out one day. I think there are about 3 games that I have actually finished.
1. The first game I ever finished was Rogue. I was so psyched that I made it all the way to level 26, found the Amulet of Yendor and made it all the way to the surface. In many ways this is my favorite game of all time.
2. Zork: Grand Inquisitor I found this game both wacky and fun. I found that I had to keep going because I was drawn into figuring out the next bit of wackyness.
3. Dungeon Siege This game is just way too short. I got to the end and said "Thats It?!? Wheres the rest of the game" I have even played through the multiplayer storyline solo. The game is way too easy. Of course considering how few games I actually finish this means I do have a soft spot for the game.
I really can't think of any other game that I finished. I didn't beat Diablo (1 or 2), I only got to chapter 3 in Neverwinter Nights, I only explored about 1/4 of the Morrowind game. I have yet to complete a Campaign in any of the Heros of Might and Magic games (although I love playing the scenarios over and over).
I love PC games. (The only console I own is a NES with about 20 games for it.) I just don't finish them. I doubt that I'll ever finish Guild Wars either (I could be wrong though, I haven't been this addicted since Rogue). When they start publishing the Expansion packs I will be in deep trouble trying to justify buying them if I haven't even got to a point where I can use them. The future will tell the tale!!
