I totally suck at updating this blog, sorry for anyone that actually takes the time to read it, don't think I don't appreciate it! Not too much going on gaming wise these days though.

I'm still playing Dead Rising, which I have completed once and got the bad ending, which is too bad because I was standing on the helipad waiting at the right time. Oh well, playing through the second time is actually more enjoyable than the first time. You're leveled up enough that you can take on pretty much anything that was ultra challenging the last time, and you're fast enough to complete a lot more of the escort missions. Also having a better understanding of when you have free time to do those missions helps to organize your time in a more effective manner. In anycase, I'm hoping to play through a lot of it this weekend.

I also picked up Saints Row last week, and while I"ve been busy slaughtering zombies for the most part, I've messed around with this title a little bit and its quite fun. Especially the Insurance Fraud missions. Although i'm not a huge fan of the "urban" (read: hip hop/rap) leanings of this game, I DO love the prospect of a GTA game with character creation in it. Its pretty much what sold me on the game. We do need a patch though. It needs to fix A) online, and B) the v-sync problems that the framerate seems to have.

So, Dead Rising has graced us with its fabulous presence and I must say that during the summer drought it is a more than welcome bucket of blood. While i"ve only had a couple hours to play with it, I've had a ton of fun with it although I must say that the linear story mode is a good way to keep things moving but I don't have time to save everyone.. and one guy i tried to save beat me with a bat because I messed up his barricade. Oh well, hopefully I get to spend more time with the game tonight when I get home.

I also caved and unlocked the whole version of SF2: HF on 360, and they must have done SOMETHING to the AI because the computer is ridiculously cheap. I like starting combos with jump kicks and they counter these all the time, even on the lowest star rating.. its annoying. I used to be awesome at this game when I was 13 (read: 11-12 years ago). So its frustrating to get beat down so badly now. I think I'll try my luck w/ Live tonight.. in unranked matches of course..

So, I picked up Castlevania and Mario Kart DS. So fun! I'm loving the DS. Such a good selection of games. I'm going to probably pickup Metroid Hunters and Mario 64 sometime soon.

On a side note, I finally got some time to play more of Paper Mario on the GC which is quite fun, its a lot like Mario+Luigi for GBA and DS or vice versa, anyway I spent a good afternoon playing through most of the first chapter. Goodtimes.

I also hopped onto Call of Duty 2 on Live and tried it again, its good to see that they fixed the lag. That game was pretty much unplayable online when I originally tried it.  I played the Prey Demo through to the end and had quite a good time. That game takes a very interesting turn w/ the spirit walking and the portals and gravity walkways. I'm thinking I'll pick up, not sure about PC or 360. Finished Half-Life 2 Ep 1 which I must say had some great action set pieces in the final hour or so. The problem with epidsodic content is that I have to wait until November for the next one.. Nuts to that! I need more of it, right now!!

Given that I have friday off this week due to Canada Day hopefully I can make some good progress on Oblivion as I haven't played that game in quite a while but have been ever meaning to.

PS. Where the hell is Mario Paint for DS?! Seriously, this would be amazing.
