Finished Fallout last night. Of course I need to have some criticism.
-Buggy-Too much combat
-Exploration becomes a pain
-Quests are usually boring
-Main story is tiny
-No continuation after main story.
-Does not feel like Fallout enviroment
-20 level cap
-No sense of power (armor and weapons are all level, except for the fatman)
-Enemy leveling
-Towns not very interactive.
-Weapon and armor degrading happens far too fast and causes major problems
-Level design is far too modular and tile based; not a lot of level variety
-Walking speed is pitiful
Other than that it was still at least a fun game. I did manage to chug more than thirty hours into it within about a week. Milked some nice achievement points too. I'll still try to lof around the game if my saves aren't too close to the forced ending. "Embrace democracy or die!"
I think I'll have to go back to the first two games to rekindle the great points. I'd still suggest both of those titles about Fallout 3 at this point. Maybe with a few patches and mods (which would require the computer version) it will be better. I'll wait to find out that much. I guess I'd rate it a... 7.5-8. Bethesda did put some nice things in the game.
-Fun combat, abusive amount of enemies-Great level design, but needed more different types of enviroments.
-Lots ofone-of-a-kind voice acting compared to Oblivion
-A handful of reallywell drafted characters
-Lots of throw-backs to the first two titles
-Bodily dismemberment
-Comparatively more mature content than Oblivion or Morrowind. This can all be part of bodily dismemberment, cursing, and character design.
-V.A.T.S. slow motion is fantastic.
-V.A.T.S. slow motion is fantastic enough to deserve two bullets.
-Exploring the wasteland is really entertaining
-Fast travel is very useful
-Water-based health restoration is entertaining, yet problematic.
I need to get back to R.E.4, if my copy will not glitch up with disc reading errors, maybe my Wii will run it better...
