So awhile back I finished Prince of Persia, and wrote a review on it. Review went over fine; however I did manage to forget to make a reference to the games ending. Personally, I consider that ending to be among one of the best endings to a game I have ever played, and yet I can understand the criticism against it.
It isn't what you expected and removing the choice from the play the game so openly touts was maybe not the best move; however the fact that the ending so accurately reflects the characters whilst discussing worth of idealism over life in a very interesting way, give it an emotional resonances that you rarely find in video gaming. Yes, it is a kick to the face, however it was meant to be, and I for one am glad that a video games are now confident enough to use such an ending to great effect. So, my point for writing this? Please stop complaining Ian, damn it!
