in response to the reply to my last blog.
Here is what I have noticed and experienced about U.S food.
First off, just let me start by saying before I left I was 132lbs (9.4stone) and just under 3 months I am now 140lbs (10 stone). I wanted to gain weight as I was under weight. Well I certainly gained my wish.
I wanted to be open and try different things when I came here. As I used to be a fussy eater and I never eat anything except sausage and chips. The only thing I sometimes get confused with out of habit is calling hot dogs sausages. As to the English, Hot dogs and sausages are one in the same, where as here they are different.
For the past weeks I have lived on Hot dogs from A-plus, Herr's chips, Sausage sandwich or hamburger from Valley pizza, also trying for the first time fries with cheese on. The big thing for me was trying my very first pizza here, I have come to like the plain pizza with no sauce on, I've also had my very first Omelette which I also liked a lot.
Also, thanks to some excellent home cooking I have had pork chops and tried ham on it's own. This may not seem a big deal but I have to say the meat here is simply the best. The ham here is different from what English calls ham, (especially as we been getting French and other foreign meat.) Everything I have tried here has been great.
I also had my very first pretzel from a shop called Antie Annes in Walmart. Which I loved they simply don't have them in England.
The only thing I've been really influenced since being here is being introduced to this thing call Rock or roll, oh wait Rock n Roll.
Discovering bands like, Good Charlotte,All American rejects, A7x, Breaking Benjamin also Tenacious D. Although it is more than likely that this type of music is played in peoples homes in England, it is more dominant here than I have seen it anywhere else.
Well that is all she wrote folks.
