So this was the final score, and thus it reads that THE PEOPLE have spoken and they name the Witcher the Best Role Playing Game. You of course know the People, because I mean, they are me, you, he, she etc. They are the end users, they are the ones who get to enjoy games, they are the ones who are mostly paying to play games!
But then enter Gamespot...The Man. This Tsunami Persona or whatever its called wins?! What were they thinking? Did overnight GS became a part of the Bush Administration? What happened to listening to the users? You know, those guys that keep you in business!
I mean I'm ok with Game Extraordinare the Witcher not winning the award of course, but losing to that Tsurimi Persona game? From an inferior consolish device?! What in the name of all that is holy were these guys from Gamespot thinking?! IT SHOULD'VE BEEN MASS EFFECT! Oh now I'm pissed, gamespost, I'm going to boycott all elections from now on!!! HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT GLITCHSPOT! ![]()
Pictures can describe my feelings better than a thousand words:

So that Tsunami game at least ain't JRPG....right?
Note: This blog is supposed to be a joke, no pun intended, expressed or implied to owners of consolish devices or that Tsurimi Persona game. ![]()

Then again, they also gave the overall GOTY to the fat plumber, so it probably isn't surprising...
But I do agree strongly that Bioshock should've gotten better atmosphere (even if STALKER is also great in that department). Bioshock is ALL about atmosphere!
BUT THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN! They either want the awesomeness of Crysis or the greatest sniper mission ever (CoD4).
Although STALKER...uhmm it does have atmosphere, I mean it did in fact made me research the subject (well I wouldn't call doing a wiki on it research but still), it made me feel what those people were going through, save for the falling body parts of course. I loved the endings, loved the gameplay which is of course HL2ish, and loved the story. Yet I can say the same thing about Bioshock...
And Crysis, well at first I thought it was all just a big playable benchmark, but then the game grabbed me by the balls, and just when you thought it was all over, it had only just begun! Kinda reminds me of a Link to the Past back in my consolish days, great game.
But in Peter Cushing's own words, "This bickering is pointless!" We must stick together and fight the Man! Woe to Gamespot! And why are we paying too much attention on a gamesite-going sloppy's opinions while we should be out there (well not out there as in "out there on the street") playing the games. I'm almost afraid the admit that after my 2 run on CoD4, 2 run on Bioshock, and finishing Crysis on hard, I've yet to finish The Witcher, and Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms is still waiting on me.
There, I think you nailed it there, ever since the departure of key staff members, gamespot seems more like a school newspaper than a serious gaming site.
(Mostly kidding...mostly...)
This is beyond ridiculous.
Hell yeah! When I first read that name I couldn't stop thinking about sushi and how I hate those damned California Rolls. I think it was in one of Jims blogs, I don't know.
I'm not gonna argue with you on the Supcom comment. You're right, GS where too harsh on it for the requirements, and it does show some sort of inconsistency in the manner they review games.
But for the record, I think they went wrong by penalizing Supcom, not by awarding Crysis the score they did. I just don't view system requirements as such an issue, especially when I can play Crysis on Medium-High settings (not Very High) on my $1000 PC.
But I love World in Conflict! "If the people disagree with me then the people can kiss the hairiest part of my hiney.

@Dogg: Well you know, you should've got the 3870, but that's ok, for a guy who adores Carlos Pavon. I really don't see a big difference between the graphic modes that Crysis sports, and trust me I've tried them all. It just looks great however you look at it! And if people would just judge the gameplay and story rather than the graphic effects then they would know that it's not all about the looks. It's like Victoria's Secret Models, I'm sure Giselle is all brainy once you get to know her.

in your last comment. Of all the people I suspect might, at some point, report me to a moderator you would be way down the list. I was just trying to be funny. Edit: Hmmm. So instead of calling you a "greasy weasel" I should have gone with the "lazy bastard" approach?
Hence why there's a Reader's Choice Award and separate award from GlitchSpot? No point in having two separate distinctions if every Gamer's choice equaled a GS's choice.
"From an inferior consolish device?!"
"IT SHOULD'VE BEEN MASS EFFECT!"
But wait, are not thy X360 also an inferior, and dare I say blasphemous , device? Indeed, thy PS2 be inferior to thy X360 in terms of the little metal thingies that makes the thing play games, held by not more than cardboard and duct tape. So either way, The Witcher would have lost to a game from an inferior device!
"Note: This blog is supposed to be a joke, no pun intended, expressed or implied to owners of consolish devices or that Tsurimi Persona game.
Me hopes you see that this post is meant to do the same.
@Vainn:
Well yes the X360 is an inferior consolish device, and as such it brands the PS2 an insignificant consolish device, but I would've felt a lot better if the editorial from a company that does not care for its costumers held Mass Effect as a winner than that Sushi game. Indeed I've been bad, and the gods of the games have seen fit to punish me with this gaming dry spell. After my penance is done I shall game, since my posts could be intimately related to my lack of gaming altogether...
So Monoco, whatcha think of the awards?
Anyways, about the awards. I disagree with most of their picks and thought some of them were even downright stupid. Rock Band and GHIII picked up way too many awards, Persona 3 should never, ever have won against The Witcher and Mass Effect and Bioshock got shafted in way too many cases (Best Atmosphere was a lock IMHO). As for GotY itself, I'm not sure if SMG deserved it but I'm actually OK with their choice. After I start playing it I'll know for sure.
Anyway , does the rank of a game matter ? Gameplay-wise , even though I love both CoD4 and Crysis , I'd still prefer Crysis .
You have a weird version of Firefox then... I have no problems whatsoever, other than the thousands of scripts that Gamespot seems to think vital to the site.
And for RPGs, the pickings were a bit thin AGAIN this year, with Mass Effect and Witcher being the only ones worthy of the honors.
Que hace una mangera en el mercado?
Que hace una mangera en el mercado? Uhmm no se, pero a 'Dogg le encantan...asi como la gasolina
Trans> I don't know, but 'Dogg sure loves them!
I mean I play the new Super MArio Brothers but at the instance of the wife making me do it! Now who's making you play that kiddy consolish game? Oh and when did you get a Wii?
And I didn't get the Wii, my little minion did. For Christmas that is. But naturally, when a new console arrives, I feel it is my duty to give it a warm welcome.
It's actually not a bad console when you get right down to it. And the best part is Virtual Console. I love playing all those old Mario games of yesteryear.
Im really looking forward to it, and it was a very pleasant surprise they liked it enough to give it RPg of the Year.
(I got that this post was a joke, i was just saying i really love the SMT games, they are some of the finest examples of JRPG out there, better imo even than Final Fantasy.)
Calling a game about commiting suicide to summon a demon from within you 'cutesy' just doesnt sound like an informed opinion.
As tedious as it may be, you may want to do all the sidequests in ME to lengthen the game considerably.
And to honor him was the reason I mocked that tsurimi game
But the main thing that got my attention was the excellent use of Dr Cox! Although Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 isnt out here yet, I have little doubt that it will be my favorite game out of all those listed, have you have every played any of the Shin Megami Tensei games? Just wondering. I dont know if anyone has answered the question, I cant be bothered reading through all those comments but yes, Persona 3 is a JRPG, in fact the enemies in all SMT games I have played have all (or at least mostly) been based on Japanese Mythology. One more thing Im wondering, whats the deal with calling it tsurimi?
Anywho, I look forward to reading more of your blogs XD
