It's been one year since I've purchased my Playstation 3! I'm very satisfied with it, and I'm happy I bought it when I did. Looking both back and forward, I've made a little list about its features.

What I'm Grateful For

#1. Trophies

I'm extremely pleased that Sony added trophies last summer, and that now PS3 gamers can also experience the joy of unlocking achievements. They're simple and not new, but they add a lot to the games I play. (Right now I'm a Level 4 at about 50%.)

#2. Metal Gear Solid 4

I love MGS4. I'm grateful that it finally came out and that I had the pleasure of completing Snake's final mission. Metal Gear Online is great too, and I've had a lot of fun with it.

#3. Beta Access

In 2008 I had the privilege of playing the Beta versions of SOCOM Confrontation and Resistance 2. I paid nothing, and got a lot of mileage out of both. And they weren't even out yet!

#4. Playstation Network

What's not to love about PSN? Themes, wallpapers, demos, videos, game add-ons... Even free games, like Kung-Fu Ragdolls, complete with Trophies! Sure beats "Friend Codes".

#5. Blu Ray

It's not that I watch Blu Ray movies often, but just having the option included is a great bonus. Movies like the Dark Knight are simply spectacular on Blu Ray.

What I Want:

#1. More PS1 games.

Syphon Filter is nice, I guess, but where is Resident Evil? Where are the other PS1 games?? This is definitely a missed opportunity for North America, there need to be more Playstation games on the Network!

#2. PS2 Downloadable games

It seems Call of Duty is coming to PS3 and 360, but I mean full catalogs of PS2 games available for download, with trophies. Just imagine being able to buy GTA or MGS again, and have all of that replay value.

#3. 40 GB Backwards Compatibility

I just wanna play my PS2 games on my PS3! There has to be a way! If PS1, why not PS2?

#4. Ability to send voice messages

The in-game keyboard is okay, and a real keyboard works too, but this would be the easiest and most carefree. Heck, it was in Halo 2 for the first Xbox, wasn't it?

#5. John Malkovich

I really wish he would voice a game character. I really do.

Got the MGS4 bundle on release date... 80G backwards compatibility, couldn't be happier. Things I am most grateful for are: built-in wireless, Home, and the fact that PSN is absolutely free! Long live the Playstation 3!!!

I just wish Sony made it mandatory for all games to include trophies.
