What a fantastic opener for V. I think the producers did an awesome job and brought me back in time to when television was a time you couldn't wait to see what happens next. I was not disappointed and I think the cast did an awesome job. It feels right. I did not watch NCIS for the first time. The Good Wife had another excellent episode, really am loving that show. Watched NCIS:LA because my guys like it, I did not. Really sad to see Trauma cancelled, I don't get it, Heroes had fewer viewers than Trauma and is still on. The storyline in Heroes is rehashing stuff from it's only good season (1). Loving Brothers and Sisters, I think it's because I feel a connection with Kitty's (Calista Flockhart) cancer storyline. It hits very close to home for me.

It was a funny day yesterday, raining, sleeting and finally snowing so this is what I woke up to this morning. My chickens will be staying in their barn today.

First snowfall in Dundalk November 4, 2009

When the weather is like this my cats are usually like this, at least Ziggy is. My fat boy is right next to me sprawled beside the computer desk. Right now it's Romeo curled up beside me, they seem to take turns sometimes I have a pile up and Sadie (the dog) squeezes herself in as well.

Ziggy passed out beside my computer desk

I also have to include the dogs, that's Ozzy (10), Sadie (1), Cody (14). This is the former dining room now den where the boys play their X-Box and their computer and hubby's workstation. The table was made by my son and hubby during the summer. It's a cribbage table/bench outside in the summer and a game table in the den in the winter. They made it from a remnant piece for a log cabin. We use the other leftover pieces chopped up for the woodstove, from a friend of ours who builds log homes.

Hi April, Great pictures! We of course don't get snow, but it got down to 37 Fahrenheit over the last week which is pretty cold for here. As for V, I gave it an 8 which is great, but I thought it was very cliche. The Independence Day beginning for example. It seems they borrowed from every other science fiction TV, movie, or series ever made. I am hoping for more originality as it moves on. I agree about Trauma. I enjoyed the last episode with Nancy and Glenn getting hurt and the drama with her father. Stay warm and safe, Thanks, Jeffery

Oh, and congratulations on Level 90! Did I miss this from before? Jeffery

Cool and cute pics! And congratulations on Level 90!

Only four episodes for "V"? I thought it was a series. Beautiful snow picture! The red of the flag and the door really sets off the other colors. That is one relaxed cat (Ziggy or Romeo?).

Hi Jeffery, Your weather sounds downright balmy to me . I just know that I really enjoyed the show and thought the special effects were awesome. Really like where they are heading with the story and that's why I loved it. Trauma was excellent, I thought that crash scene was frightening, it's amazing what they do.

Thanks angeldeb .

Hi EarlyMemphis, Yes they will be only airing throughout November then returning in the New Year. The flag is frozen to the flag pole! LOL that's Ziggy who's always laid back. Romeo is a Maine Coon cat, I will have to post a picture of him in another blog.

Missing NCIS? That's not good! Heh, just kidding.

What lovely pictures - thank you for sharing. I'm keeping that snow picture, it would make a nice postcard. That's one amazing crib table. I'll bet I could lose on that one too!! it's been ages since I played, but I always enjoyed it. I didn't know you had a puppy, she's cute. How long have you had her?

Isn't it great when there are storylines that we can relate to? I often find it very healing. I'm rather a softie so they tend to make me cry. There was one on an old CSI:NY the other night that really toughed my heart. I really like that show, especially Stella. Melina is great!

A show has been canceled - already?? Talk about not giving something a chance. Speaking of Tuesdays, I have REALLY been enjoying The Forgotten. New CSI:NY tonight. Take care, April.

I've heard a lot of positive talk about "V". I'm further south than you, but give it a month or so and my yard will be snowy like that. Cute pets! I like that table too.

We got some ice pellets and rain Monday. I think it even snowed briefly.
Nothing like your "Winter Wonderland" though.

Believe it or not, after weeks of waiting I completely forgot it was on and fell asleep on the couch. My better half went out with her sister so she even forgot. GRRRRRR!!! I SO MUCH wanted to see this. *sigh* thank the heavens for the Internet. I'll have to catch the first one there!
Ain't growin' old grand?

To be fair, I've not been sleeping well as one of our cats, Missy, is dying. She's been off her food for days has trouble breathing and is not doing very well. I've been snuggling with her at night, but it's hard as I get very morose and find I can't sleep while I think of my lovely girl.
We've had her for 15 years. I still remember her as a kitten; all of her completely fit in the palm of my hand.
How do they do it? How do they entwine themselves around our hearts?

I can't be bothered with V. It'll just crumble so soon that I'm not letting mtself get involved. And I really just don't have time. Too much TV watching to do already!

Hi DMarex, Don't worry I just have to have my Mark Harmon fix, already have plans to watch it today since it's snowing out and I won't be able to do anymore raking at the moment. Darn leaves just finished falling last week and now I have the white stuff to shovel! LOL!

Hi Karl, I personally don't play cribbage but I enjoy watching the guys when they do, I usually read. We have had Sadie since January 2009, I guess you missed my blog, name the Pup! She had on the hockey sock remember now? Yesterdays CSI:NY episode was really good, a little weird since I never heard of sloshing?! I didn't catch this weeks The Forgotten or Castle but I will.

Hi BuskieBoy, So sorry to hear about Misty. I know how hard and stressful it is when they are sick. Don't worry there are enough sites online that you can watch the show and believe me it's worth watching. The characters/cast just are perfect and grab you immediately. It had the highest rating for the desired demos of 5.0 (18-49). It didn't pass NCIS but I bet if they switched the time and aired it against NCIS:LA, they might have a chance of overtaking them. I will be watching V during it's original airing, just like I do Fringe.

Hi Jekyll, I think alot of people feel the same way, you invest in a show and then they cancel it. I think if they cancelled V some other network would pick it up, the ratings are the second highest for a new show this season. NCIS:LA being first. So I think that speaks for itself. The special effects are amazing, and the story awesome. I agree about there being too much to watch but I can always squeeze something in there. Do you watch White Collar? It's really good too....

Hi April, I had to come back and mention we were considering turning the air conditioning back on yesterday or today. It was 93 degrees Fahrenheit yesterday and somewhere around that today as well! Isn't it November? The lows aren't even below the mid-60's! This weekend the high temperatures will dip down to the low 80's. Jeffery
Posted Nov 5, 2009 9:14 am PT
Oh Jeffery that's hot!!!! You must be roasting. We had a blizzard today, the wind and snow made visibility nill. BTW loved the Baseball game yesterday way to go Yankees, Kudos to Hideki Matsui, he rocked.

V's pilot's probably the best among the new shows for me. I wished they made it into a 2-parter though, so it didn't appear too cramped. I have high hopes for the show. I agree with both The Good Wife (previous two were so-so) and B&S (similar reason as yours and also, this season has more direction and cohesion than S2 and S3). Cute pets and a nice little project by your hubby and son!

Hi April! I thought V was great! The Sci-Fi Channel had a marathon of the original V for a great run-up, at least for me. I stopped watching Heroes after the second episode of the second season. It has lost its path. We are having a cool down here in the "Sunshine State"... Highs in the 80's(F) and Lows in the 60's(F). What is that white stuff all over everything? The cats and the puppies are just too cute. My cats sleep like that all the time. I just want to know how they get all that comfy in such positions. OMG!!! Someone else (besides me) that plays cribbage! My grandpa and uncle taught me how to play. Grandpa for money (he was the cut throat) and my uncle for fun (he was a little more easy going). Keep warm and have a great up coming weekend.

Hi April! Sorry I'm so late. I'm glad I don't live so far north. We've had frost on the windshield a couple of mornings, but that's it so far. You cat reminds me of my dog. He's so lazy. The table is really cool. I watched NCIS online today during my lunch break. It was a good one.
Posted Nov 5, 2009 8:26 pm PT
Feel free to keep all of that cold snow up north...I'm not looking forward to seeing any of it down here any time soon!

One of my main complaints about Season 3 of Heroes was the constant rehashing of Season 1. Season 1 was great, but I've grown weary of living it over and over again in these later season...can't they just move on?
Posted Nov 6, 2009 12:12 am PT
Hi April, Great table. V was OK, I kept thinking about the original in which I think there was more action, plus I liked Diana (Jane Badler) as a baddie! I've still to watch The Good Wife however, I've downloaded the first 5 episodes. Still enjoying Eastwick.
Posted Nov 6, 2009 11:32 am PT
Great pics! Thanks. Your furry kids are all adorable... I liked the V pilot also, and am really enjoying the evolving relationship between Alicia and her "competitor" coworker. It's a kind of relationship that I doubt has ever been done before in a tv series, and I think they're doing a great job of it.
Posted Nov 6, 2009 5:51 pm PT
Hi MackyMac, I thought the time just flew by so quickly in V it was truly gripping and yes alot of action. I liked Flashforward but found this weeks episode extremely depressing, I think that's why the ratings are dropping. Everyone seems to be focusing on the negative.
Posted Nov 7, 2009 6:42 am PT
Hi Scott, Hahaha very funny, white stuff indeed. I would rather have white sandy beaches but alas my hubby likes the cold north better. I can't rave about V enough, it really really was stellar. The mini series of course will always be the best.
Posted Nov 7, 2009 6:44 am PT
Hi IndianaMom, Today I will watch NCIS, I got caught up yesterday with other shows, The Forgotten (which was really, really good), Castle (silly but good), Eastwick (awesome) and FlashForward (depressing). Lazy is okay sometimes but Ziggy is lazy all the time, he wouldn't catch a mouse if it ran across his nose! LOL!
Posted Nov 7, 2009 6:47 am PT
Hi Jokipper, I really really want to like Heroes, especially since they got Samuel (Robert Knepper) who was awesome in Prison Break. He is the only redeeming part at the moment. You're right the constant rehashing drags the show down. Dull, dull, dull.
Posted Nov 7, 2009 6:52 am PT
Hi Maverick, Hubby and son are pretty proud of it, thanks. This week's Eastwick was really really good and shocking. Loved Cybill Shepherd, the show is unfolding nicely. I would love for them to bring Jane Badler aka Diana back to this show in some sort of capacity. That would be great.
Posted Nov 7, 2009 6:55 am PT
Hi Moonshadow, Thank you, furry family is much loved by me. The Good Wife has so much going on and is so well written, just when you think something is going to go one way something else pops up, it's extremely intriguing. I agree Alicia and Cary formerly of F"riday Night Lights" have this indefinable connection between respect and competition. It's cool.
Posted Nov 7, 2009 6:58 am PT
Cool pics. Congrats on Lvl 90!
Posted Nov 7, 2009 10:37 am PT
Thanks TVGuy! So no comment about shows your watching? Finally watched NCIS yesterday and it was the best episode this season (so far)!

Hi April. Thanks for the great pictures, I love looking at photos of people's animals and yours are gorgeous. *smile* Sorry this is a late comment, but my pneumonia has kept me in bed (and offline) for 99% of the time in the last few weeks. Glad you are enjoying "V" and "Brothers and Sisters". "V" looks as though it will be right up my alley. As for Networks cancelling shows, they do it all the time and sometimes, they keep on stuff that nobody watches! Our weather is beautifully hot right now. I LOVE Spring (even though my sinuses don't!) Have a great day. LL

Hi Lady L, I wish you all the best and hope you recover. Thanks, they sure keep me busy. Take care. Hugs
Posted Nov 9, 2009 12:26 pm PT
Look at your pets so cut especially cats when they sleep. I agree V was good so much complaining on the forum about it being convoluted but I think they did a great job setting it all up.
Posted Nov 9, 2009 2:06 pm PT
Thanks Danharr! There is always someone to find fault with something. Myself, I think it was extremely well done with moments where I actually held my breath and was scared. CSI: NY did that to me last week, I won't give it away but it was the best episode this season. Spooked me big time! LOL.
