What a fantastic opener for V. I think the producers did an awesome job and brought me back in time to when television was a time you couldn't wait to see what happens next. I was not disappointed and I think the cast did an awesome job. It feels right. I did not watch NCIS for the first time. The Good Wife had another excellent episode, really am loving that show. Watched NCIS:LA because my guys like it, I did not. Really sad to see Trauma cancelled, I don't get it, Heroes had fewer viewers than Trauma and is still on. The storyline in Heroes is rehashing stuff from it's only good season (1). Loving Brothers and Sisters, I think it's because I feel a connection with Kitty's (Calista Flockhart) cancer storyline. It hits very close to home for me.

It was a funny day yesterday, raining, sleeting and finally snowing so this is what I woke up to this morning. My chickens will be staying in their barn today.

When the weather is like this my cats are usually like this, at least Ziggy is. My fat boy is right next to me sprawled beside the computer desk. Right now it's Romeo curled up beside me, they seem to take turns sometimes I have a pile up and Sadie (the dog) squeezes herself in as well.

Ziggy passed out beside my computer desk

I also have to include the dogs, that's Ozzy (10), Sadie (1), Cody (14). This is the former dining room now den where the boys play their X-Box and their computer and hubby's workstation. The table was made by my son and hubby during the summer. It's a cribbage table/bench outside in the summer and a game table in the den in the winter. They made it from a remnant piece for a log cabin. We use the other leftover pieces chopped up for the woodstove, from a friend of ours who builds log homes.

Oh yeah! The New Year holds many a new show trying to break the mold of tried and true. Personally I'm looking forward to the debut of "V" . In the vein of comic book heroes January on FOX will bring Human Target starring Mark Valley, Chi McBride and Jackie Earle Haley. Based on the DC comic character Christopher Chance (Mark Valley) and helmed by MCG of Chuck fame. Action packed adventure. Bear McCreary scores the pilot episode, he's the guy behind the awesome music from Battlestar Galactica and Sarah Connor Chronicles. This is the music for Caprica which he is also did. If you haven't seen Caprica I highly recommend it. You can watch a trailer for the series pilot Danny Glover is a special guest and BSG's Number 6 is also in Human Target. This is a redo of the ABC 1992 series starring Rick Springfield! LOL that's the comic book connection. Fringe has a comic out as well.

Another comic book series in the works for 2010 is The Walking Dead, executive produced by David Alpert and produced, written and directed by Frank Darabont (the genius behind The Green Mile). HBO has Treme, about New Orleans musicians, not sure where the story will go with this one but it's being helmed by David Simon and Eric Overmyer of Homicde: Life on the Streets. And of course the prequel to Battlestar Galactica, Caprica starts in 2010.

Another new show (British) is Murderland with Robbie Coltrane and it's very very good. I'm really loving Flashforward, it's right up my alley. Fringe continues to amaze me, can't wait for J.J.'s new project in 2010. So what shows have blown you away or disappointed you, post a comment.

Hi TV fans, so here we are again another season about to begin. So far I have watched the new Melrose Place and I was pleasantly surprised, it was really good. Katie Cassidy (teen heart throb David Cassidy's daughter) who was in Harper's Island this summer is in the series, she's quite a good little actress. Loved The Vampire Diaries, also pleasantly surprised at how good the pilot episode was. When I saw the name Steven R. McQueen in the credits my alarm went up, as you know I'm a huge Steve McQueen fan and lo and behold it's his grandson. Well I was so proud of myself because I said, 'Gee he looks just like a young Steve McQueen' ooooops wrong actor, I thought Zach Roerig was the Steve double! LOL anyways now I know, I'm kind of unfamilar with alot of the younger actors. Nina Dobrev who plays Elena is marvelous she reminds me of Alyssa Milano. Great cast.

The Toronto Star newspaper has the Star Week tvguide and this is how they rated some of the new shows.

A- Modern Family (ABC with Ed O'Neill), Mercy (NBC with Michelle Trachtenberg), Flashforward (ABC with Dominic Monaghan), Community (NBC with Chevy Chase), Glee (FOX with Jane Lynch)

B The Cleveland Show (Fox animated), Bored to Death (HBO with Ted Danson), The Jay Leno Show (NBC with Jay of course), Trauma (NBC with Cliff Curtis), The Good Wife (CBS with Juliana Marguiles), The Forgotten (ABC with Christian Slater), V (ABC with Elizabeth Mitchell), NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS with Chris O'Donnell), Hank (ABC with Kelsey Grammer), The Beautiful Life (CW with Mischa Barton), The Vampire Diaries (CW with Ian Somerhalder)

C Eastwick (ABC with Rebecca Romijn), The Middle (ABC with Patricia Heaton), Brothers (Fox with Michael Strahan)

D Three Rivers (CBS with Alex O'Loughlin), Accidentally on Purpose (CBS with Jenna Elfman), Cougar Town (ABC with Courteney Cox)

But as fans of television I think it's ultimately up to us to do the rating. They had some interesting things to say about each show and I personally am excited about the new season, it's nice to see Comedy shows back on the horizon. I have to agree with a little too many police procedure shows and high body count have made viewers change to something lighter. I like a variety so it's all good to me. There is one show The Forgotten which has my interest piqued, its about a former detective who is haunted by the disappearance of his child. The murder victims tell their own stories and get the guilty their just desserts. Flashforward (or Flash Forward) begins when the whole human race blacks out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds after that everyone sees a vision of themselves six months into the future and the news isn't all that great. Hooked, I am! V Be prepared to be blown away, the pilot does not disappoint (so say the critics), alot of social commentary, healing diseases, advanced technology and yes lizard skinned people. Those are the three dramas I'm most excited about. For comedies I'll watch all of them and make my decision. To me Cougar Town looks really good in the commercials, yet it was panned by the critics. There are also alot of new reality shows yay! just what we needed, yes I'm shaking my head but hey I can't stop watching them either. So sue me.
