Hello all (three of you who pay attention)

Welcome to the first chapter of my "List Chronicles" so aptly named "I: The Bands"

I've decided the winning entry goes to BT with "Bands" since his was actually a genuinely curious wonderment...

In no order

BLACK SABBATH - Lets face it, its Sabbath, Osbourne was bound to crop up sooner or later on this list so why not get it out of the way. With hits like "Paranoid", "Iron Man" (Which also tells a good story) to name a few, whats not to love? Plus Ozzy on his own is quite good, proof of which can be given in two words; "Crazy Train"

KISS - It took me a while to actually get into any kind of music, didn't care for it at all until i was about 14 or 15 and KISS could very well be the band that got me into it. Mainly because of my friend who told me that at the end of Bill and Ted the song they sing is actually a KISS song. So i checked them out and damn, "God of Thunder" (Which is quite nostalgic for me now as i listened to it relentlessly before going off to college) "Detroit Rock City", to name a few are just fantastic. Plus they done something i love, and that was KISS Symphony, taking rock music and adding an orchestra = genius.

LINKIN PARK - It wasn't until recently that i realised how much i like this band, granted songs like "In the End", "Crawling" and "Numb" had always been favourites of mine, but it wasn't until listening to "What I've Done" that it clicked with me that musically these guys are great.

AC/DC - Though i would never wear a T-Shirt with that name on it, i would glady admit to loving there music, Post-KISS i tried to get some more hard rock/metal groups on the go and AC/DC was really the first one to jump out beyond the rest, even furthur than KISS before it. Its quite possible that i could just sit and listen to AC/DC music all night and not get bored, everything from "Thunderstruck" to the "Highway to Hell" and back again. Even the campy "Big Guns" i enjoyed...

LED ZEPPELIN - Wouldn't exactly be fair to list Sabbath, AC/DC and KISS without mentioning the Godfathers of metal rock, The Zeppelin... I mean just listen to "Kashmir" be it a live performance on MTV in 1994 or the master recording, either way you'll see what i mean.

STEREOPHONICS - Personally i didn't expect them to make this list, but when i was thinking about Bands of whom has the most songs i like, they ranked pretty damn high. Like AC/DC before them i could just listen to their work all night and not get bored, from "Superman" to "Dakota" to "Lolita" and everything in between, just brilliant "Sing along music".

QUEEN - How dareth anyone put a music list up and not involve Queen, i mean its pretty much a given for all lists (as hard as that is to hear for some Cure fans), I mean i think we've all seen the Live Aid concert with them doing Radio Ga Ga, thats enough proof right there, but add onto that "Bohemin Rhapsody", "Another One Bites the Dust", "Killer Queen", "We Will Rock You", "We Are the Champions", "I Want to Break Free" and of course "Don't Stop Me Now". You've hit gold, baby.

Well there thy public have it. The first in a hoepfully long, long series (essentially until i run out of ideas) of lists. Join us next time for the second installment of the List Chronicles named "II: Whatever i choose to be the topic".

I've decided i'm going to use this space more often, as in more than everytime the banner changes. So i'm going to do the simple thing. Lists. Thats right you heard it here first folks. This post signifies the first in what i hope will be a long like of "My Favourites" lists which will not only change the appearance of this bloody page once and a while but will also be used as a tool in the very very very overly common "Favourite" threads that crop up EVERYWHERE.

And as the people who will be viewing this is is the 2 or 3 of you that actually pay attention to blogs and the 1 of you that actually pays attention to mine, i'm going to open the floor and let you decide what my first list will be about, although in all honestly i'll be the one that chooses not you, (don't you hate on those reality tv shows where they are all like "Oh you decide who leaves the house" when you really don't, well now you can hate me) however it will be one of your suggestions so i'll just leave it open to interpretation.

Merci.

Firstly i know i posted a new banner like two weeks ago but this one is in honor of the release of Spider-Man, not that i like Spider-Man better then Superman or anything, it just felt about time to honor something so now i have the "Darkness Taking Over" Banner that you see above. I'm sure theres no need to point out the very obvious symbolism...

Secondably (as Tobias would say) another reason to do this blog was because i achieved the monumental 10k posts. Now i'm sure you all want an autograph or sample of saliva to clone your own me from but thats just not going to happen, i don't do autographs....

Deja Vu
I hadn't actually heard of this until it arrived in the box office and even then i never really took and interest in it. This of course because i haven't seen the infamous trailer. So when i seen it i didn't really know what to expect. The Story:...

Mortal Kombat
Considering the circumstances in which it was made 1. Being a Game-Movie film when nothing had been successful in doing so and 2. Paul W.S Anderson in the directors chair. It actually turned out okay. Mortal Kombat is highly regarded as a...

IMO the best M. Night Shyamalan film to date. Its the first third of any Superhero origin movie extended to a full film and it is in every sense of the word fantastic. Its hard to explain why it works so well, maybe its the subtle things maybes...

From Dusk Till Dawn
Surprisingly a film about a strip club full of Vampires is actually quite good. However it doesn't start in such a way, It starts as a typical running movie, like Thelma and Louise with guys. They kidnap a family to make their way across the...

Superman
One of the best Superhero films ever made. Even with the recent flurry of Special Effects filled Superhero films, most of them don't even come close to capturing the heart the way Superman still does today. Christoper Reeve is probably one of the...
