Here is my current list of reasons

WHY I AM IN THE RUNNING FOR WEIRDEST PERSON EVER:

01. My favorite meal -- the one I always request when Mom asks what I want on my birthday -- is liver, spinach, mashed potatoes, milk gravy, dinner rolls, and iced tea.

02. I bugged my sister until she bought me a socko paddle to play with here in the nursing home.

03. For the most part, I don't like steak.

04. I liked the movie Ishtar.

05. I'd rather have canned biscuits, boxed macaroni & cheese, and instant mashed potatoes instead of the homemade versions.

06. I'm afraid of being snapped by rubber bands.

07. I can't eat or drink anything hot. When I have hot chocolate, for example, I mix it with half the required boiling water and then finish with very cold milk.

08. I have never seen the movie Titanic, the series Heroes, or anything starring Jack Black, Steve Carrell, or Edward Norton.

09. I don't like mushrooms.

10. All the hangers in my closet must be hanging in the same direction.

11. I segregate jellybeans, M&Ms, etc. into color groups and then eat one group at a time.

12. One Christmas about 25 years ago, I heard a song called "We're a Bunch of Little Elves" on a local radio station, but no one else seems to have ever heard it. It included the lyrics "We're not cats or dogs or even human beans" and "Some elves are fat, some elves are fatter, but we're all invisible so it doesn't matter".

13. I get the heebie-jeebies if my food touches on the plate and yet I mix fried potatoes with my fried eggs, milk gravy and scrambled eggs, and I eat casseroles.

14. I keep a spreadsheet listing all the books I've read since the last week of June 1994, including statistics of average per month, most re-read book, etc.

15. I won't eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on whole wheat bread, only white. All other sandwiches are fine on brown.

16. I like to chew ice.

17. I can't eat 99.9% of all brands of sausage because even their mildest versions are much too spicy.

18. I prefer to keep blinds, curtains, etc. closed at all times to block sunlight.

19. I love candy corn but won't eat the "Indian" type with the brown on the top, not white, even though I know it is just coloring and the candy tastes the same.

20. I like oatmeal cookie dough far, far more than I like the actual baked cookies.

So what do you think, people? Am I the weirdest person ever?

I don't know, all those seem pretty normal to me. But that might just mean I'm equally crazy.... After all, weird is relative.

My favorite food are potatoes. In ANY way, shape or form. Seriously, give me a boiled potato and I'm happy. And I don't like cold cheese cake. If it's cold, I'll microwave it.

Most of the time I have a pencil or other writing utensil in at least one of my hands and spin it. When I'm writing I have one in the other hand. At home at my desk I have a blue pencil from which I removed the mine so it won't break from the repeated impact on the desk/wall/floor.

"I can't eat 99.9% of all brands of sausage because even their mildest versions are much too spicy."
I come from a family where dinner guest are told that the food contains only ONE chili pepper in case they don't like it hot. And only desserts are made without garlic.

One Christmas I was baking cookies with my mom and we didn't get to finish the pistachio almond cookies (yummy!). So the dough got frozen for later baking. Over the next couple of weeks I regularly sneaked into the kitchen, got the lump out of the freezer and cut off a slice of the dough until it was all gone. Now my mom always keeps a part of the dough for me whenever she bakes. The pistachio almond cookie dough she'll even freeze.

As for the song from number 12, it does exist. Maybe the guy with the mp3 will send it to you.

Scratches head, hops in her Wayback Machine, and returns. I think it goes something like this: ***singing in an elf-pitched, Alvin and the Chipmunky voice***
We're a bunch of little elves...

Um.. ***stammers a bit from both stagefright and trying to remember the lyrics*** We're really short;
Not very cute.
We have big noses
And big feet to boo-oot!

Some of us are fat.
Some of us are fatter.
But we're invisible, so it doesn't mat-ter!

Tra-la-la, tra-la-la, tra-la-la, tra-la-la!
Tra-la-la, tra-la-la, tra-la-la, tra-la-la!
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do!

(more elfin la-la-la-ing: )

Tra-la-la, tra-la-la, tra-la-la, tra-la-la!
Tra-la-la, tra-la-la, tra-la-la, tra-la-la!
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do!

We're a bunch of little elves,
And we think it's really swell
Just to be a little elf.
Oh wow, oh gosh, oh gee!

So would you like to be
A little elf
just
like
meeeeeee?!
***makes a commotion sound like the little elves did in the original***

I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers the real holiday c l a s s i c s. Eat your heart out, Bing!

I simply loved all you had to offer us in this blog! You are a WONDERFUL, that is for certain! For those of readers who tend to be the conformists, I remember this motto I read on someone's blog a while ago: "Never be yourself, otherwise you have nothing to fall back on." LOL!

Glad I could help.
I know how frustrating it is to have a song stuck in your head and not being able to find it.

Miss Teldy -

You seem to be the sanest, most reasonable person on earth...

Unfortunately for you, that's only my personal opinion.

I would say you would be on the zany side of average. And that's including:

"04. I liked the movie Ishtar."

Which, really, I see as the biggest surprise on the list!

P.S. I agree with 20 - I wouldn't have it any other way.
