Okay, so I'm in a better mood today, at least a little less b*tchy at the moment... ^__^;; But anyway, I love to ask people this question. What does your name mean? Do you love it or hate it? You don't have to state your name if you don't want to, just the meaning.I'm pretty sure I told some people on this site my real name. It means 'angelic', 'angel', and 'messenger'. When I was younger I never liked my name but now that I'm older I really do appreciate that it has a beautiful meaning like 'messenger'.
But I wasn't really named for the meaning, I was named after my grandma.

Emiko: It's Japanese and means beautiful smile.
When I was little, my nickname was Amy, have no idea why (????) When I went to Middle School/Jumior High, I was enrolled under my given name, Emiko. At first I didn't really like it, I guess cause I wasn't used to it. Now I love it because it's unique and most ppl seem to like it and comment on how unusual it is. Some one can yell, oh i dunno, Jenn, and 5 ppl will answer, there's no mistaking Emiko.

Sarah = princess. It's a stereotype that I kind of don't like. But incidentally "sara" is Japanese for "plate" (my Japanese teacher got a laugh out of that one). Hey Ed, screw the rules you have money!
I get what you're saying, Emiko. Sometimes I don't even respond when someone says my name because it's so common (really pisses people off when they actually mean me and not someone else). Wouldn't Emi make more sense than Amy though?

Ed: Yup as BTRAV said, screw the rules you have money! XDBuffy: I really like the name Emiko, its pretty. As little kids they hear things differently so I can see where Amy came from. ^_^;;BTRAV: I've always liked the name Sarah too. There's just something about it.Sometimes I don't even respond to when someone calls my name too. Instead I respond to other people's name's which is how I ended up with the nicknames Dorothy and Charlie. XDD

My family has a thing for names that start with "A". my cousins are anna and aileen, not "eileen" which is more traditional. @BTRAV/Sarah-my mom actually pronounces "amy' "emi", lol.
