Neko has a very strong voice. She writes about subjects that some people would never think of, like having a family history of mental illness or being a child and hearing news stories about women being murdered. But whatever she's writing about, there are vivid images and feelings in her songs. On a more personal note, when I first heard the song "Set Out Running," about wishing you had escaped from a person before they betrayed you, I was going through something similar and I felt like I could relate to it. Neko works very hard on her music and I think she's underappreciated. I'd love to see her get more media exposure.

Moore was recently criticized by Canadians for his documentary "Sicko" and his suggestions that we have a flawless health care system. Our health care system is good but we have problems with doctor shortages, underfunding and long wait times for procedures. Moore suggests that we are satisfied with the system, but health care reform is the subject of many political debates here. Then when Canadian journalists pointed this out to him, he got all whiny and offended. Moore also suggested in "Bowling For Columbine" that gun violence isn't a problem in Canada. Anyone who pays attention to Canadian news at all will soon realize this is not true. And despite his ignorance about Canada, when we had a federal election here in 2004, Moore tried to tell us who we should vote for. Moore should stop shooting his mouth off about things he doesn't really know anything about, and I'm not just talking about Canada either.

He keeps getting on the news for the nastiest things. He videotapes himself in the bathroom. He tells us how long he has sex with his wife, what parts of his body are shaved, that he likes to dance around naked after he has a shower, all in really graphic detail. Nobody needs to know these things! He really seems to have a massive ego. He also seems to have an anger management problem considering all the legal trouble he gets into. I hate it when celebrities make millions and millions of dollars but they still won't pay child support until they get sued. That's disgusting.

Shotime1979 mentioned Ed Harris' performance in Apollo 13 and I agree, he was terrific. He said things like, "We've never lost an American in space and we're sure as hell not gonna lose one on my watch!" without sounding corny or overdone. His character, Gene Kranz, also said, "Failure is not an option!" In real life, Kranz didn't say that, but he thought it was a great line and he ended up using it as the title of a book he wrote about his time with NASA. That's a pretty high form of praise for Ed Harris.

I usually don't watch a movie just because a certain actor is in it, but Kevin Bacon is an exception to that rule. Like I said he is extremely versatile; people joke about the "generic Tom Cruise character," but there is no generic Kevin Bacon character. Some of them you care about or root for (Footloose, Apollo 13) and some of them are slimy (Sleepers, Wild Things). And some of them it's hard to tell because they've done terrible things but they also have their own demons torturing them (The Woodsman). He seems to be fearless when it comes to being experimental and playing controversial roles. The only thing all his characters have in common is their believability and an intense, memorable on-screen presence. I've been impressed with every performance of his that I've seen so far.

Salma says she doesn\'t diet because it makes her "b*tchy." Good for her. Life is too short not to enjoy food, Salma!
Salma is an intelligent woman. I\'ve read two articles in Marie Claire where she spoke out against domestic violence and she also spoke at an anti-violence rally on Capitol Hill once. The reason she wanted to star in and produce the movie about Frida Kahlo was because she knew all about Frida\'s life and her art. I also like Frida and have prints of hers in my living room. And I like watching Salma get interviewed because she is usually articulate and funny.

What's annoying about him? The K-Fed nickname thing is stupid. He's just copying J. Lo. And J. Lo's nickname is overused already. He left his pregnant girlfriend, the mother of his child, for Britney. He was always smoking around Britney when she was pregnant. He's so dumb that in his rap song he complained about "pavarotti" stalking him. Um, moron, intrusive photographers are called paparazzi. Pavarotti is the last name of an opera singer named Luciano. I am sick of seeing this guy on all the magazine covers when I go to the drugstore. Someone's fifteen minutes of fame should be over by now!

Laura Prepon plays Karla Homolka in the true-crime movie "Karla", formerly called "Deadly." I don't see how anyone could accept this role. We're not talking about a crime from history here. These murders happened in the early 1990s. This film was timed to coincide with Karla Homolka's release from prison (she got a sweet plea-bargain because prosecutors didn't know the extent of her involvement in the crimes). Ever since we first heard that this film was in the making, Canadians have been saying, "Please don't do this, it's exploitative, the victims' families have suffered enough, let us have some closure." I guess Laura didn't know or care about this when she accepted the role. I for one will not pay to see her or Mischa Collins in any movies.
