I was watching The National on CBC last night, and I was deeply moved by a story about Master Cpl. Scott Vernelli, a Canadian soldier killed in Afghanistan earlier this year. I would like to share the video because it is Remembrance Day.

Here, also, is a new song written and performed by John McDermott in honour of the Canadians who have been killed in Afghanistan.

Remember ten years ago when Jerry Falwell was talking about the Teletubbies being dangerous to children? He thought that the triangle on Tinky Winky's head was a gay symbol and that this was immoral. Many people thought Falwell was being ridiculous. But now it turns out he may have been right about Teletubbies being dangerous. A woman in London Ontario was the victim of an armed robbery on Halloween; a man in a purple Teletubby costume pointed a gun at her and demanded money. She gave him 40 dollars and he left without harming her. Police are still looking for the thief. I really hope this isn't the beginning of a Teletubby crime wave.
