What in fact I'm talking about is my brand new PS3 that is adding yet more mayhem to an already congested area around my TV, what with my Wii and 360 already taking up valuable space. So yep I'm the proud father of a beautiful, bouncing baby 40gb PS3 and I'm cuffed to bits
.
So what are my thoughts on this black beauty? Well I'm going to compare it to the 360 I know I shouldn't but hey I can't resist.
As far as setting up goes very easy. No brick for the power and HDMI is as easy as pie, though there was some straining and grunting trying to get this into the most inaccessible area in my TV.
As for the OS and online set up. I don't know perhaps I'm just to used to the 360 or perhaps it was just the fact that someone (and I will hunt them down like the dog's they are) had already taken my name that kind of made it feel slightly less of an easy and enjoyable experience compared to the 360. But hey I'm online now and whilst I haven't ventured into any games ( I don't have a headset gggrrrr that was one omission I wasn't happy about) it seems to be working.
Which brings me onto the PSN Store. This seems a bit congested and not as easy to find what you want though again this may be due to me not really being that used to it.
As for games well I only have Resistance at the moment. I wasn't that impressed to begin with. Then bizarrely played it for 5 hours (that whizzed by) without a break, realising perhaps it is a good game after all to hold my attention for so long!
That's about it really I know I need to put it through it's paces a bit more and I will do in the coming weeks. Oh and if you want to add me feel free PSN ID: MunkieMunch
Firstly just a note to say this is a Macacd inspired blog so I guess credit to him or just blame him whichever ![]()
Macacd wrote a while ago that this would make a great blog title. It got me thinking what exactly would the achievements be in my life to get me to that magic 1000 full completion. Let us not forget though that some achievements can be negative and only give a 0 score.
So I have separated my life into 1000 achievement points as follows (no particular order):
Being Conceived (25GPs)
Being older and realising what being conceived entails and then having to look your parents in the eyes (0GPs)
Being born (100GPs) Learning that by making as much noise as you can you can have your parents run around for you (50GPs)
Being able to soil yourself as a young child anywhere anytime without repercussion (50GPs)
Learning to walk (25GPs)
Learning that falling down hurts (0GPs)
Learning that Germaline cures every medical illness (50GPs)
Learning to talk (50GPs)
Learning that saying 'Why' after everything your parents say to you winds them up (25GPs)
Getting your first school uniform (knowing it's far to big for you but you will grow into it) (5GPs)
Having your Mum rub off some dirt from your face with spit and a tissue (0GPs)
First day at school (10GPs)
Playing kiss chase with the innocence of youth (10GPs)
Seeing girls as objects of desire instead of just funny looking bloke mates (100GPs)
Knowing that dossing around at school is far more fun than doing work (50GPs)
Doing GCSE's (0GPs)
Passing them (100GPs)
Growing your first fluffy facial hair knowing you will be served your first pint down the pub (10GPs) Having your first proper Girlfriend (10GPs)
Finding things out with your first proper girlfriend and realising that it's actually quite fun! (20GPs)
Thinking about the things you and your Girlfriend get up to then realising what being conceived entails and then having to look your parents in the eyes again! (0GPs)
Realising that Sixth Form really is a doss and that Archaeology as an A-level is as easy as your mates said it would be (10GPs)
Going to Uni knowing that there is a time and place for everything and its here!!! (20GPs)
Finding a job (0GPs)
Getting a job (30GPs)
Realising that now your in a job that the best years of your life have now gone (0GPs)
Buying a house (100GPs)
Paying bills (0GPs)
Destroying the house in the name of re decorating (50GPs)
Destroying the house not really knowing what you are doing (0GPs)
Going through a mid life crisis with associated peroxide blonde and sports car (150GPs)
Settling into a routine (0GPs)
Lets not forget the DLC of old age for an extra 250 GPs
Getting old and being able to soil yourself anywhere, anytime without repercussion (100GPs)
Being able to get the best seats on a bus first or you can get away with hitting some youth over the head with a brolly for not letting you do so (100GPs)
Learning that in old age by making as much noise as you can you can have your children run around for you or call them ungrateful so and so (50GPs)
That I guess is it I'm sure there are more so feel free to add ![]()
I have been patiently waiting for ages, like an expectant father for this day and I can't wait!!! The thought of MGS4 and GT is making me as giddy as a small child after seven sugar rich slush puppies!
But until then I'm still enjoying the box of delights that is my 360. Lost Planet Colonies is still rocking my world. I know it has its pit falls but it's these small imperfections that make it really endearing. It is still a very pretty game and I have to say anyone not finding Akrid Hunter fun needs to seek professional help!
The online community is great as well. Everyone is courteous and bar a handful of instances, polite and up for a good game.
I'm also really enjoying Civ Rev as well. Nothing like watching the Greeks trying to fend off your Intercontinental Ballistic Nuclear Missile with swords
That's about it excuse the poor writing but I'm nursing a bit of a sore head after last nights celebrations of the good news.
