Holy crap!

I was out for a couple of hours running errands yesterday afternoon, and when I got home, my street was blocked off, and they were evacuating the apartment building just down the street from mine. It turns out that the building is built into the side of a hill; the retaining wall that helps support the building is crumbling badly, and is in danger of collapsing. And if the retaining wall collapses, the entire building could collapse with it.

I'm thanking God that it's not my building, but I feel so bad for the 15+ families that were forced to evacuate, and are homeless until the building is stabilized, if it can be at all.

Thats bad . Is the building new or old? I guess the next thing will be the blame game as they try to work out who has to pay .
I hope things are resolved quickly for the people who have been moved out of thier homes.
I hope you are having a good easter.
