To be frank, real life sucks right now. And it's only gonna get worse - this year is not gonna be a good year. So thank goodness for TV cos seriously, my TV obsessions are what's keeping me sane right now - getting giddy over my fave TV shows, and desperately looking forward to new episodes, is just the escapism I need.

My main obsessions right now are Doctor Who and Moonlight.

Season 4 of new Who has been good so far though for some reason it hasn't tickled my squeeee-factor quite as much as Season 3 did (probably cos the first 4 eps of Season 3 had a lot more whump and angst! ). Donna is a great new companion and I'm enjoying her more equal (and less mooning) relationship with the Doctor. I'm especially looking forward to some of the upcoming episodes such as the Stephen Moffett 2-parter, Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead.

Moonlight has just returned with new episodes following the strike and OMG! What a return! Josef turning Mick! I totally didn't see that coming and it was such an amazingly powerful, well-acted, emotional (and surprisingly hawt!) scene! This show just gets better and better. It's left me in a tizzy of anticipation for new episodes.

House is back as well and kicked off the post-strike episodes with a fabulous return to form - this was like classic House of Season 1 with plenty of snark and House/Wilson goodness and fabulous humour. I laughed out loud so many times!

Supernatural returned to screens with a classic mix of scares and laughs - and the final episodes of this season look likely to be awesome.

NCIS is back too which is a show I very much enjoy without being overly fannish about it. Internal Affairs was a good episode and a nice call back/sign off to the events of Season 4. This week's episode I wasn't too fussed about. I'm really not interested enough in the peripheral character of Nikki to want to spend that much of the episode focusing on her life and her issues.

And Stargate:Atlantis will be back on the air in July - and surprisingly I have overnight gone from being an utter spoiler whore to being pretty much totally spoiler-free for Season 5. I seriously know little more than episode titles and I am really looking forward to watching the new episodes with no preconceptions and no idea what to expect! This is new territory for me but I'm rather enjoying being spoiler-free and feeling proud of myself for resisting temptation.

So right now there's lots of good TV to escape to - this weekend I'll be watching new SPN, new Moonlight and new Doctor Who - and although the US shows have only 2 or 3 episodes left to run, Doctor Who has another 9 weeks to go and should tide me over fairly nicely through to new SGA in July.

Hurrah for TV!

So much lovely new TV to look forward to this week.... and I won't get to see any of it till Sunday!

There's new NCIS tonight, and new Stargate: Atlantis and Moonlight on Friday... sadly, however, I am away from home for most of this week, in London from Wednesday to Saturday, then heading up to Wales on Saturday morning and won't be home until sometime Sunday afternoon/evening! But at least that means I have a nice big TV session to look forward to on Sunday evening!

I also need to decide whether or not to give Season 2 of Torchwood, starting on Wednesday evening, a go or not.... if so, I'll need to set the DVR!

Wheeee! Dr Who is back! And it's awesome!

I am so in love with David Tennant's Dr... I would even go so far as to say that he has eclipsed my childhood favourite (they do say your favourite Dr is usually the one you grew up with) Tom Baker as the best Dr Who ever. As a friend on GW put it, Tennant "brings just the right amount of eccentricity to the role". He's cute, he's funny, he's clever, he's cheeky, he's exuberant, he's dark, he's quick-witted, he's dangerous, he's lonely, he's noble... and he makes running around barefoot in a suit look cool... and kinda sexy!

I liked the new companion Martha; she seems like an interesting character and is different enough from Rose to not feel like a simple replacement. I loved the plot of the ep, I loved the scariness of it and the sense of tension... and, whumper that I am, oh how I loved he Dr sacrificing himself to save everyone else and Martha fighting to resuscitate him. Fabulous episode!

Can't wait for next Saturday!

Some people just don't have opinions. Like Alipeeps.
Alipeeps must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could Alipeeps possibly have for not rating a single film?
