Over at the personal blog.

I'll be updating semi-regularly over the course of the next week or so, so keep checking back.

EDIT: My blog was down for a few hours there, but should be back now.

Great list so far.

white stripes!

I don't know how I feel about this year's list since Muse was only at 41 last time. Well, I guess we can't all agree on everything.

I'm enjoying the list so far. I know everyone is going crazy over Person Pitch but it's not exactly my thing, either. I'm not a huge fan of Animal Collective, but "The Purple Bottle" off of "Feels" is one of my favorite songs EVER.

Gulag Orkestar is superb... sometimes catching up on old stuff is completely worth it, like in this case.

Great Northern!
Posted Dec 28, 2007 4:04 am PT
It is nice to see Y3R0Z3R0R3M1X3D in your best remix albums list, even if it did have a silly title... now I just hope you put the regular Year Zero at number 1

The list is good I like it.
Posted Dec 28, 2007 7:38 am PT
I better see United abominations on there!

Neon Bible FTW!

(not that I actually care, I just felt like drawing a line in the sand)

Rather cool list so far, especially the fact that you like she wants revenge for the same reasons as me!
Posted Dec 31, 2007 5:04 am PT
Interesting list so far. Though I'd say I probably enjoyed Era Vulgaris a bit more than you did.

This is pretty cool as I get to check out bands I've never heard of that feature in your list.

Also I wonder if Maximum The Hormone is going to be in there. Their newest album was fantastic.

If kotaku is right and you really are leaving, good luck in whatever you decide to do. It sucks to see what's happened, but I'm sure you'll all be alright. The creme rises to the top, or so my Ag instructor used to say.

@JBucc I just saw the same thing, I expected Alex to leave before Frank. But even still, wow
Posted Jan 11, 2008 7:50 pm PT
Ditto JBucc and Elk's comments. I hope yours and Jeff's future endeavours (or perhaps simply endeavour?) bring you much success.

D'oh!
Good luck out there.
Posted Jan 12, 2008 5:12 am PT
... you will be missed here. Best of luck with life outside of Gamespot.
Posted Jan 12, 2008 5:14 am PT
read the kotaku article & came straight here. We're gonna miss you man... you're another talent behind the greatness that was Gamespot the last few years It's sad to see what's happening to my favourite website.
Posted Jan 12, 2008 5:15 am PT
I'm sad to see my favorite editor leave, but I can't wait to see what you do next. Keep us up to date, Alex.
Posted Jan 12, 2008 11:20 am PT
same I don't want to see you go
Posted Jan 13, 2008 3:37 am PT
This sucks. Editors are dropping like flies. How far are we from Ryan Davis leaving or Brian Ekberg leaving? GameSpot is slowing but surely dying and it breaks my heart. You guys need to make your own site or something because if GameSpot dies, I wouldn't know where to go for video game news and reviews. Hopefully, I'll see you around Alex. If not, well, it's been a pleasure.
Posted Jan 13, 2008 12:06 pm PT
Dude, don't leave
Posted Jan 14, 2008 4:31 pm PT
Damn not another staff member of GS leaving.. But yeah that's live I guess, best of luck to you alex!
Posted Jan 14, 2008 5:20 pm PT
Hey Alex. I wanted to say that i've enjoyed reading your reviews for the past 6 years and they've always been very insightful and very helpful. You've done a remarkable job and i really hope you keep us posted about what you intend to do next. I really think that you and Jeff should create a new gaming site that is all about the truth and honesty when it comes to reviews - just like Greg said once upon a time ago. You guys deserve to get yourselves back out there and pwn everyone. Later man and good luck to ya.
