Lots of games have come out recently and they are all very good in my eyes. First new game on the docket is Prototype. This game is just plain fun to play. The open environment is much like Assassin's Creed, but to a much greater degree. Being able to just run, jump and glide from one end to Manhatten to another is fun in itself. This is not to mention the awesome combat gameplay involved. Love this game and I hope they expand upon this game.
Second, is Ghostbusters. This game unfortunately had a long and hard development in which the production was halted several times, especially when they changed game designers. But never the less, the voice talent of the original cast of the movies makes up for it. The gameplay is mediocre, but enjoyable. Just started playing it, so I don't know what surprises there are to come, but I'm looking forward to anything this game throws at me.
Next is the final release of Battlefield Heroes. I've been beta testing it for about 6 months and I'm happy they finally released it for everyone to play. Still hasn't gotten alot of attention from the general public...maybe a couple TV commercials will get the attention the game needs. I've played in several rounds where there is only like 4 total players making the round take well over an hour to finish. Not a real bad thing, but it can get boring after a while of players just running around capturing eachother's flags, then the flags are turned over....and the process just repeats and little to no combat occurs. But I'm looking forward to the growth of the game. It really is alot of fun because of it's comical nature.
I've just recently gotten into Left 4 Dead, which of course isn't a new game; but its new to me. I met a guy at my local pool that is really into it, and he suggested I play it...so I have and it truly is an awesome game. I've never been a fan of zombie shooter games, but the whole co-op experience is well worth it. The tension runs high, and really gets your heart going making you feel like your life is really at stake and you have to fight to survive. Lots of gross aspects like the "vomiting" zombies, and zombies in general are disgusting; but I've gotten past those aspects of the game and focused on the gameplay instead. Highly recommend it.
Still need to get my hands on Infamous for my PS3, since that game has gotten alot of hype and actually looks good. Another open world game like Prototype, with a protagonist that has superpowers...what's not to like.
Waiting for Batman: Arkham Asylum to be released; but got some time before that happens. The game seems to be getting some polarized criticism, but I like the plot and dark look of the game.
So, I've got all these games I really want to play, but I'm in the midst of working on my senior engineering project for school, so time's tight.
