Okay I've been having problems with Gamespot's user video player. It really sucks. Every time I try to watch a user video on gamespot (like Jeff's "points report") something screwy happens. At first, everything is running pretty smoothly. But after a minute or two, it doesn't. There are these split second pauses that occur through out the video. Now usually this wouldn't be such a big deal, if they didn't happen every second. 4:03, stop, 4:04, stop, 4:05, stop. So what I end up getting is a very long slide show with a short burst of sound coming from my computer every so often. It's pretty lame.

I would love to blame this on my computer, because...well, my computer isn't that great. But every other video hosting website I go to (like youtube or google video) works absolutely fine. I know that's kind of unfair comparing gamespot, a video game website, to a site like youtube, whose sole purpose is to bring videos to it's users. Still, gamespot is a really great website, but I always run into these minor issues that are kind of disappointing. The user video feature is excellent, but these frequent pauses are kind of a drag.

Well that's my complaint of the day. Besides that, the rest of my week has been pretty sweet. All of the United States got hit by this huge cold front this week. Thankfully, my place did too. So we got about five inches of snow on Tuesday! Now we don't get a lot of snow where I live, so our state only has about 12 snow plows, and all of them are used up in the mountains. Because of this, all the streets were covered with the white stuff. The weather man didn't really help the situation. He predicted only a trace of snow in the city. Well five inches is hardly a trace homeboy. The weather man on my local station is pretty much always wrong. So if he calls for "isolated flurries," you can guarantee about a foot of snow; when he spots an incoming blizzard, you can bet it'll be in the high 60's with not a cloud in the sky.

Well fortunately I was rewarded for this man's miscalculations with a snow day. Oh wait, my school district is run by a bunch of idiots. Almost ever single district in the state was closed except for mine. So what ended up happening was that 300-400 kids showed up to school that day. We have a total enrollment of 2,700. Thankfully, the superintendent realized that he was fighting a losing battle and closed school, 30 minutes after it had already started. All the buses had to be rerouted, so I decided just to walk back home for an hour. That kinda sucked, but at least the snow was pretty.

So that's about it. I spent my two days without school playing video games and guitar with my friends. Next week will be fantastic. We have midterms. Wow this is a really long blog.
