A couple weeks ago I was spinning out pizzas at my work and while doing so I had an interesting discussion with the delivery driver. We both began to go on a mini rant about the good old "Toonami" days on cartoon network. We discussed all the fun shows we missed and one particular show stuck out in my mind, Tenchi Muyo. That night after arriving at home I pulled up youtube and watched a couple of the old toonami commercials for it, afterwards making my way over to ebay. My interest in anime had been rekindled, I ordered the OVA Tenchi series and the Tenchi Universe television series. They both arrived a couple of days ago and when I slid the disc into the tray and waited for the menu to load I experienced one of the greatest feelings I've had in a while, nostalgia.

As the Tenchi theme song started up I felt like a child in a candy store, I haven't felt that good in a long time. I just finished watching the entire season today and I feel wonderful, a great television show that I can enjoy with light, comedic humor and a couple of interesting love triangles. I just wish I had of bought the seasons sooner because they've just pushed their way to the top of my list, classics in my eyes. I also have cowboy bebop lined up on my tivo and I've placed Samurai Champloo on my netflix queue so I'm all set to let the nostalgia roll in. Of course I can't discuss my favorite anime without listing my favorite character from said anime. Ryoko made the show for me, Patrea Burchard's voice was built perfectly for the character, I can't listen to the subbed version having heard her dubbed voice.
