Not very good at describing myself. Those who meet me tend to remember me for a long time, for what it's worth. I've been into games since I was a wee lil tyke, as my parents worked at Microsoft. As such, I've grown up a PC Gamer, though this was simply because I didn't have a console, not because I didn't like console games. I still do most of my gaming on the PC - I'm simply more comfortable with the platform, plus the indie game scene is much more alive on PCs, as you don't need to go through one of the Big 3 to get your game published on the PC. I value story/soul above all else in my games, though that's not to say I don't like mindless fun; I just loathe and despise bad scripts, and would much rather play a game with no story then a bad story (I'm looking at you, Far Cry). As such, I like a lot of the classic adventure games (mostly the Lucasarts ones) for their great writing, and a lot of RPGs for their depth (Deus Ex and Planescape: Torment being my favorites). I play first-person shooters, but am less into them with each passing year, as my developing sensibilities cause me to be more and more unnerved by the idea of shooting people for fun. I especially harbor a prejudice against WWII games, as I find they are usually filled with pro-American bias (when do we get to play game from the German, Italian or Japanese perspectives? Or even Finnish? Come on!). I quite admire and respect IF (interactive fiction) games, and play those a fair bit. Also keep my eye open for indie gems. School work increases with each passing year, and with my big game backlog new purchases don't happen often, but I'm as much a gamer as ever.
