As some of you might know, I have a trick-knee and can't afford to be out-and-about when it's slick out.

There are some errands I need to run at this time that will take between one and three days, so it would be nice to have between one and three days to get those done before it gets slick again.

However, it looks as if those days aren't in the very near future, even though it seems as if it's going to start warming up, starting sometime this Sunday.

If the temperature would remain above-freezing long enough to melt whatever ice is around, I could have an indefinite number of safe-to-navigate days at my disposal even if the temperature drops to zero, just so long as there's no precipitation during that time.

We've been having some light (dusting) snows around here but a considerable problem with slickness. My aunt says that she's heard that we're to expect around eight inches of snow sometime today.

I think that eight inches of snow is beautiful--but it would be nice to have some time on this side of the snow to get my outside ducks in a line.

Come January, I wouldn't mind having an entire week of being snowed-in and looking out on it. In fact, it sounds delightful.

However, it's slightly-inconvenient at this time.

Do you know what would be wonderful?

It would be wonderful to come into some big cash and, among other things, use a portion of it to order lots of books to read from Amazon.com, Alibris.com, and a few other dot-com places. Also, to stock up on packets of instant cocoa (I already have the marshmallows ready).

Anyway, what would be ideal would be to pay my bills way ahead so I don't have to think about running out to pay any.

Then, after the New Year, I can curl up with my books and cocoa and look out at the winter wonderland.

The ideal winter for me would be where I have a session of being snowed-in that would last between one and two weeks. The rest of the time, I'd be able to get out-and-about except for, perhaps, 2 or 3 more times where I'm snowed-in for 2 or 3 days at a time.

It would be a nice way to wind down from the last year and think about what I'd like out of the new one.

Anyway, I'm going to take a look and see whether the snow has come in yet.

Hopefully, I'll finish that story I'm writing about Henry Winkler--something I'm already more than halfway done writing.
