i dont know if they are releasing a new video anytime soon. they have been working on other things and try to fit production time in. but they promise they will get the final video in. neither IKP or me has forgotten you.
This is to any YoYoGames.com users or anyone who happens to read this and knows about YoYoGames.com. I figured since there isn't a blog feature on the site i would link this one to it.
I'm a 17 yr. old male currently enrolled in a high school as a junior. I love to play games of all types and one of my dreams is to hopefully take part in the development of videogames. Gamemaker 7, from yoyogames.com, was originally just a way for me to get some experience with making simple games, but after a while i began to enjoy it and now use as often as i can. the very first game i made was, i'll admit, a cheap tutorial copy. when i learn something new i usually learn it by copying off an example learning basic techniques, and then after that i experiment on my own. i never intended to ever submit it into my yoyogames profile, but i figured i might as well, to make it seem like i was actually doing something. i knew i was going to recieve a lot of bad criticism, but i really didnt care. uploading it there just jelped give me a sense of accomplishment in learning something new, that i liked, and improve on it.
two big obstacles that stand between me and learning how to use this program is time and my own skills. i have so many other things going on in my life that i dont get to work alot on any of my projects. im always working at my parttime job, finishing the large amount of homework i get from school(Honors courses). on top of that my skills arent really that great for most of this stuff. i suck at art whether it is handrawn or computer generated(the stuff you saw in the game that was my ownwork was the best i could do) unless i used 3d studio max, and i only have access to that in school, in a ****room im no longer enrolled in. my level designing isnt that great either although alot better than art. the one thing im best at is sprite programming, and as soon as i complete my AP computer Science course, i will be able to do a bit of code writing as well.
to sum this up, i know that my games probably wont be the best and most of you think they will be lame, but thats fine. i know they are lame, but i honestly work the best that i can to make these when i actually have the time. i do this stuff all by my self and i dont have someone to help me with artwork or anything so im stuck with that task too. i really dont like using other people's work , who i dont know, and putting them on my projects. so if anyone has a problem with my games thats fine, go ahead and say so, but dont over do it, some people are being ridiculous about it, im sry if im not up to your level of creativity and that i dont have all the time in the world to sit infront of my computer all day and night working on little flash games. to those who dont get on my case as much thank you.
For those of you who have noticed that all of my game lists are empty(save for wishlist) it is because i grew tired of the xbox 360 and all its technical problems, and its tech. support from hell. not to mention that some of mygames would freeze for absolutley no reason and i would have to restart the entire console manually(pulling plug out of wall). so when i decided to get rid of it i decided to do wat my friend did and trade all of my stuff in and get a PS3. i knew that i would only make enough money to buy the console if i went to this one particular game store, if i only traded in my stuff. but because the family console got a red ring of death(3 lights) my dad decided to use thewarranty money(from bestbuy) to buy my sister a labtop, seeing as how we moved into a new house where four desktop pc's wouldn't fit. so all the family games were going to be traded in as well. i put them all in one big transaction so that my members' card and special trade-in bag(from Play n Trade) would give us the maximum amount of trade-in credit possible(most of the money being mine cause i traded in a console).
i wentto a nice new video game store called Play n Trade. as soon as i stepped into the store i was amazed. this store in particular was being run by a family but it extended with employees too. i instantly became friends w/ the assistant manager, Trey, who was the same age as me(17). they have deals alot better than gamestop(which mainly why i was so amazed). Gamestop only offered me $52 dollars for my Xbox 360(an Xbox 360 Pro w/ a 60GB hard drive). Play n Trade offered $125 which i gladly took( they also added an extra 10% either because it was a pro or because of the Harddrive), along with great trade-in credit for all of my games. i got a grand total of about $500. gamestop i would only have gotten about $250. i used the vredit to buy the following things: 80GB PS3, Pokemon Pearl for ds and a stylus pack for my brother, andMy Sims Kingdom for Wii for my sister. i have about $20 credit left. i was absolutely amazed and pleased with this new game store(so much as that i just cut up my Gamestop Edge Card, knowing i would never use it again). Play n Trade as their own special trade-in offers: the Insiders Club card(pay$10 a year, get an extra %10 percent in trade-in credit, and %10 percent off all used games an accessories) and they have these special bags marked with their store logo and if u bring ur trade-ins in these bags that ends up being another extra %10 in trade-in credit. i love this store so much. the only reason i think would only buy from gamestop is if i wnated to order online. that is the only downside to Play N Trade, they don't have online orders. each store has its own myspace page and a single official website.
And so that is my story of the week. i am now a PS3 gamer and im positive that it will stay like that for a long time, though i am not exactly sure when i will be able to play online w/ my PS3. I do not regret what i have done, even though i had traded in my Special Edition Halo 2 and Halo 2 Map pack and several other good games for xbox 360. i do not regret because i know that should i ever want to play them again i can just buy them formy computer(that runs vista- yet another crappy product by microsoft).
