So we've enlisted dolphins? How long is it going to be before all the folks down here in the south paste a flipper to their car (between the yellow ribbon and Jesus fish), that reads, "Support our aquatic mammalian troops."?

@yeah_write
You better show some respect. Once we attach lasers to those mo-fo's, no pirate's gonna be safe.

Dolphins absolutely disgust me. They're cruel despicable animals. A bunch of douche-bag scientists were following a group of them carrying a still-born cub (or whatever hell they call their hell-spawn) and they STOPPED FOLLOWING THEM OUT OF RESPECT. Would they have done that for any other god damn animal? Hell no! They'd probably have followed some bloody primative tribe as well. Of course they then missed that they were just using the dead baby to lure in fish which they would then slaughter, and for desert they'd eat the baby itself.

Attack dolphins?

I bet the guys at Westwood Studios are behind this.

@GabuEx: Awesomesauce. But what will we do if the North Koreans develop mind-controlled squid? Or (shiver) the remaining Taliban attach laser-beams to sharks' heads?

I actually read the robo-brain one before. Its freaky. The have some cells that tell the robot where to go when he hits a wall. Now they want to see if that little brain can remember stuff.

If this progresses I would like to see some sort of computer aided storage that allows for our memories to be preserved perfectly, and possibly even made viewable by others. Yes I am talking about androids, and no I don't care if they take over the world.

@Foolz3h
Dolphins are one of the most brutal and ruthless mammals in the world. That is why we enlisted their help.

@GabuEx
Once we attach lasers to them, it's not going to be just a game anymore... or is it?

@Bozanimal
I don't think the N. Korean government can starve enough people to raise funding for a squid mind control program.

@zgreenwell
They do have a computer aided program that helps people think or remember. I think it's called a computer.

I haven't had the time to watch them all yet, but I did check out the octopus vs shark video, and that was pretty insane!

Yeah... I creamed my pants when I saw that.

Thanks. I meant something implanted so I would have it all the time that would interface with the organic peripherals I already have built into my body. It would be cool until I got around some strong magnets or electromagnetic fields.

Thos videos are pretty awesome. I love random science stuff even I don't understand what is actually going on (which is most of the time). Look up Time Warp on youtube, that show uses high speed cameras to film events at up to 10,000 frames per second.

I can't seem to find the Time Warp one (which is the best one I've seen) but here is a clip of a wine glass being hit by the perfect frequency to make it shatter. It's amazing how much motion there is before it shatters.

@zgreenwell
Like the million-dollar man?

@bacchus
Holy Crap! That wine glass shattering was cool. Time warp's are pretty cool also... another search term I think is Time Lapse?

Great videos and articles, BTW the Octanitrocubane link needs fixing. Also virtual particles inside the bubbles?!? W00t! O_o

And the Robot-Brain article is fascinating, that is by definition a cyborg, but then there is the problem of how to keep the neurons alive.

One thing that we never have enough of is organ donors, and many people pay handsomely for organs. North Korea has one natural resource: people. Supply and demand, 31160618, supply and demand.

Those squid could be here in as little as a few months.

@SciFiCat
I'll fixt that right up. Hold up... why are you the first person to mention that? Did everyone just skip to the videos? ha ha ha ha! Everyone was probably really busy to be bothered by boring literature.

@Bozanimal
With the embargo in place, runners are having a hard time sneaking people out. Organs on the other hand... only require dry ice.
