Day to day thoughts on gaming.

The major skills I chose were Hand to Hand, Sneak, Security, Block, Mysticism, Restoration, and Mercantile.  My only regret is not having Armorer and Light Armor as a major skills.  I should have replaced Sneak and Block and not worried so much about the powerleveling.  Let me explain my choices...

Armorer is only useful at 50 or above (fix magical items), so I had to train to get it there faster (no big deal but it took longer).  Hand to Hand is the fighting skill I use the least so it keeps me from leveling too fast.  Security is useful until getting the skeletion key (level 10 quest).  It's tough to open very hard locks right away without taking Security as a major skill, and it doesn't level up too fast.  Mysticism is for getting Soul Trap right away to recharge magic items.  Restoration is the Willpower skill that levels the slowest for me (good for powerleveling).  Light Armor because I usually wear heavy armor (powerleveling).  Mercantile because it's the Personality skill that I use the least (again powerleveling).

I have not been perfect in powerleveling this character so far.  I have even taken a couple of +2s, but I don't let it bother me because it is still a balanced easy character to play.  I can use any weapon I find with skill, and my spells are stronger than my enemies.  I'm hoping to have as many 100s as possible while still roleplaying when my character tops out.  I'm only level 11 but I've completed 29 quests, have a fame of 52, and have only shut one gate.  I'm trying to save the main quest for last.  More later.

I got sick of my stealth character on Oblivion.  The two main problems I ran into was how tedious the process was of poisoning the weapon, repairing the weapon, making potions etc., after every fight and also the fact that if I conjure something I lose my surprise attack as well as my creature is in the way of my line of fire.  So...

I am starting again as a combo mage/fighter.  I'm having really good luck with making my own spell of drain health.  Even though I didn't take destruction as a major skill (I'm also trying to powerlevel), I take most stuff down with one hit.  I take my best blade, blunt, and bow weapons with me at all times on work on whatever skill is the lowest.  Whenever I get bored with that (or run into something hard to kill) I switch to spells.  I am wearing the best armor I can find (heavy or light), I do quests as I find them, and I'm not worried about doing the main quest first.  When I find a new location, I empty it.  I only fast travel if I've been there before, and I hope to complete every quest in the game with this character.  Strong from the start and strong at the finish hopefully too.  I will update this blog with more stats and news later.

Instead of taking Strength as one of my attributes, I took agility instead.  I forgot that AGL affects damage with a bow.  My specialization is of course stealth.  I have been getting hit more than I thought I would, but I haven't been dying very often.  Out of the three (mage, melee fighter, archer), I would say using a bow is my least favorite.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like 2112rushman.
2112rushman must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could 2112rushman possibly have for not rating a single film?
